My name is Kathleen and I have been caring for infants and adults for over 10 years. After graduating High School, my grandmother became ill and needed a full time caregiver. I wasn't sure how I would do but it didn't take long to realize I enjoyed taking care of others. Soon after my children were born I began working at a daycare, so that I would be able to take my children with me to work. I enjoyed taking care of infants and toddlers, but as my children got older and started school full time I decided to apply at an assisted living facility. After working there about 6 months I decided this would be my career path. I took an accredited course to become a certified nurses aide and began working at a skilled nursing facility. I have heard so many memories and stories from my sweet residents, and the joy on their faces make me feel like I am making a difference.

Through all my years I learned how to be a caregiver! I enjoy working as a care giver! My job become priority duties! Make sure daily activities for my client, make sure my family comfortable take care of there love one

I can help relive the old days I live working with the elderly because I love to hear the stories back when they were little and young. I become a caregiver/cna because I know how hard their family member work. I'm proud of myself because I know leaving I did the best to understand my client and left them with a smile in there face when I leave and how happy they get when they see me the morning as soon I step in their house

Caregiving made an impact in my life when my Uncle and Great Grandmother needed help in the last phase of their life. Both at different times came to stay at my home as I tended to their daily needs until passed. Seeing the happiness a little help from a smiling face brought them is something that brings tears to my eyes to this very day. I am a mother to a 5 year old special needs daughter as well. Her daily needs must be met in a more specific way than others. From a very young age caring for those around me has always been a part of my life, and I'd like to make a difference in your daily life as well.

I love seeing smiles on people's faces.If someone is need of help I like to be the one to help them to assure they are happy and ok.I love cooking and cleaning as well as making sure every nutrition is taken in.I like to motivate people the best I can to let them know there potential and what they are capable of. The thing that attracted me to be a caregiver is being able to help someone who has helped someone there whole life and is now struggling to do it now .To be able to put a smile on someone's face and know they are taken care of. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love helping people.I love making sure that my resident is safe and comfortable as well as well taken care of.I also enjoy hearing some of there life stories what they used to do and motivate them to still do some of it . I am proud of being able to help others

I have been working as a Nurse Aide for about four months. I completed my training, and am waiting on the results of my state test for my CNA license. When you become a CNA, it gives you the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people, which is something I've always wanted to do. The job can be very demanding, but it is also very rewarding. The relationships you build with your patients are like no other, and it is a good feeling when you can help your patients feel better. I first thought about becoming a CNA when my grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal illness similar to Parkinson's. Hospice came into our home to care for him when it became too much for us to handle on our own. They were very helpful, and provided him with not only care, but also companionship. Seeing the difference that they made not only for my grandfather, but also for me and the rest of my family, that is what made me want to get into healthcare. I believe that is what makes me a great caregiver. I think about each of my patients as if they are my own family. And if they were, I would want only the best care for them. That is why I always strive to do the absolute best I can to care for my patients.

I've always been told that I smile too much. I'm really proud that I smile too much because it brightens up my patients day. Sometimes they need to see a smile to know everything is going to be ok. I love being a caregiver because I get to help someone. it brings me joy to know that I'm helping someone who appreciates it. Working in both hospitals and nursing centers has shown me two different worlds to healthcare. I have really learned a lot from both. I've learned to noticed signs a lot sooner when something is going on with a patient/resident. I've learned to read people a lot faster on who they are or how they like things done. It really does make a difference when you know what to look for. That's why I wanted to be a caregiver and eventually make my way to becoming a Registered Nurse.

I honestly went right in to provider as a young 19 yr girl. This is my calling always will be to make someones day with just a simple gesture or a smile. I think what attracted me as young girl that cared totally 100 percent was just living the life I had and pushed myself to be a bigger and better person,I lived with my grandmother and then she lived in the nursing home and I would always go and be with her and the residents. I appreciated my life by viewing what others lived...Sometimes not so fortunate. Will I enjoy being a care taker to brighten someones day with a act kindness and just being myself...knowing I made a difference in someones Day. Hi my name is Lorine sue. I'm 36 years old and a mother of two . I've been doing this for 13 years and love it. I took care of my grandma when she as old and living. I then decided that this is what I wanted to do. It came natural to me & it's what made me happy so why not get certified and paid for it. I have a happy, bubbly personality. I love to laugh and have fun. I cared for my mother for 2 years. She was completely blind so I cared for her 24/7. I assisted with taking her to the bathroom, bathing, dressing, brushing teeth, brushing hair, incontinence . Washed/ dried clothes, linens, towels, grocery shopping, cooking all meals, washing dishes. Cleaning the house, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping. Administered medications. Driving her to all doctor appointments, kept track of all doctor diagnosis. Worked with home health agency - coordinated all nurse, PT, OT, speech/memory therapist, Commission for the blind visits. Paid bills and reconciled bank accounts and any other financial business. Offered companionship, friendship. Finalized all burial matters. Cared for my brother for 1 year. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Dealt with the VA regarding his health care and a fiduciary for his Military pension. I was his representative payee for Social Security benefits. He had agent orange, loss of cartilage in his knees and couldn't walk, neuropathy, diabetes, liver disease/failure cancer, high ammonia levels causing confusion, memory loss and violent tendencies. He was very challenging - personal care was handled by my husband (I was his little sister and he would not allow me to care for him in that manner). Worked with home health care agency like my mother. Worked with hospice. Helped care for my husband's father for 4 months. Brought my father in-law home from nursing home where he was placed on hospice immediately. He had three strokes requiring stents. Last stroke paralyzed his right arm and leg and impaired his speech Managed all doctor, hospice nurse, therapist visits. Insured that all necessary medical equipment was ordered and delivered - hospital beds, shower benches, wheel chairs, walkers, breathing equipment, oxygen tanks, etc. for all three relatives.
