Hello, I am a cheerful, positive respectful person with good work ethics that is interested in helping others by showing them consideration, kindness and a sense of hope. I have experienced the loss of my mother to two horrible illnesses, pulmonary fibrosis and dementia. I watched my older sister become my mothers fulltime caregiver, and learned that everything done with tender love, care , and grace helps not only the patient, but also gives peace and comfort to those closest to them. Knowing that my mother was well taken care of gave me a big sense of peace and helped me enjoy her last moments knowing that she had the best care she could of ever had. With that being said, after much thought on how I can honor my mothers memory, I have decided that caring for someone else's loved one will give me joy and a sense of being a help to someone that needs it just like my mother did.

Caregiving made an impact in my life when my Uncle and Great Grandmother needed help in the last phase of their life. Both at different times came to stay at my home as I tended to their daily needs until passed. Seeing the happiness a little help from a smiling face brought them is something that brings tears to my eyes to this very day. I am a mother to a 5 year old special needs daughter as well. Her daily needs must be met in a more specific way than others. From a very young age caring for those around me has always been a part of my life, and I'd like to make a difference in your daily life as well.

I love seeing smiles on people's faces.If someone is need of help I like to be the one to help them to assure they are happy and ok.I love cooking and cleaning as well as making sure every nutrition is taken in.I like to motivate people the best I can to let them know there potential and what they are capable of. The thing that attracted me to be a caregiver is being able to help someone who has helped someone there whole life and is now struggling to do it now .To be able to put a smile on someone's face and know they are taken care of. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love helping people.I love making sure that my resident is safe and comfortable as well as well taken care of.I also enjoy hearing some of there life stories what they used to do and motivate them to still do some of it . Hello. I'm Lisa. I've been working as an in home care giver for 10 years. I love working with people and seeing the smiles on their faces when I'm there to help. I first started doing home care through Home Choice Senior Care, which then became Brightstar, in Iowa. After that I went self employed. I have pretty much done everything that could be needed for clients. Cleaning, meal prep, transfers, bathing, bed baths, dressing, feeding, medication reminders, errands or transporting to appointments, even just sitting and visiting or playing card games. Whatever the client needed or wanted. I was trained in CPR through BrightStarCare. They also trained us on various other needs for the elderly.

I've always been told that I smile too much. I'm really proud that I smile too much because it brightens up my patients day. Sometimes they need to see a smile to know everything is going to be ok. I love being a caregiver because I get to help someone. it brings me joy to know that I'm helping someone who appreciates it. Working in both hospitals and nursing centers has shown me two different worlds to healthcare. I have really learned a lot from both. I've learned to noticed signs a lot sooner when something is going on with a patient/resident. I've learned to read people a lot faster on who they are or how they like things done. It really does make a difference when you know what to look for. That's why I wanted to be a caregiver and eventually make my way to becoming a Registered Nurse.
