I started helping my mom with my dad when I was 14 yrs old after he had a stroke. I fell in love with helping people. My favorite thing about being a caregiver aside from helping them with what they need is the bonds that are formed. The clients sort of become family. I'm a mom to 2 kids and bonus mom to 3 others. Raising them in this dark world to be kind and loving and respectful as well as respectable is my biggest accomplishment.

I love working with the Elderly and the disabled because I've always like helping people threw my life time. Friends family and I've done homecare 3 yrs for my mom and I did homecare 4and 1/2 yrs for my grandfather till he passed at 99 yrs old and I had a wonderful experience with him and I wanted his last year's to be happy and I wanted to let him know that he was appreciated and loved still. Because he thought he was a burden. I made him feel happy to be alive . I love to let people know that " It don't matter how old or if you can't do the things you use to do , it's ok because once upon a time you did and you will always be remembered. You left a mark in someone's heart or mind and they became the person they are and your friends and loved ones will always remember you. So now it's your time to relax and enjoy your retirement. You did your part in this world and now it's ower turn to make sure we make you happy and thank you for what you've done and it's our turn to make a difference in this world. And my difference in this world is helping our elderly and our handicap and the needy. That's where I feel I make a difference and I believe I'm needed and that's why I love working in this field. HI there. I seem to always remind people of someone else. I smile a LOT. And love conversation BUT... that does not mean I talk a LOT either. Some of my clients are more on the quiet side and I "go" with that. People are interesting. EVERYONE has a story to tell and of course, everyone's story is unique. Sometimes my client and I will go into the kitchen and cook or bake and some clients HATE to be in the kitchen. Do you love to take walks? How about drive around and "see the sights"? Ahhh... how about this--- a great game of Dominos? OK.. you don't like those? No problem. I love crafts... how about taking great pictures? Are you a camera buff? Can you sing? Play a musical instrument? I was a piano and french horn major in college. Well.. maybe you are more of a reader. OH YES! I love to read! One of my favorite hobbies -- love to read especially Reader's Digest or.. how about this one, "This Ole House".. or a gardening book? You love animals? So do I. Maybe you need a haircut. I have cut my client's hair because they can't get out. Just in case you are wondering....... no.... never have done that for a living-was never trained in that profession but just watching others do it and I love to learn new things. Right now, reading a how-to book... on plumbing. So.. is there anything your are interested in learning? Never too old to learn new things.
