I have working in healthcare for 9 years in various settings and over this time I have been told that I am a very caring and nurturing person. I genuinely love caring for other people. I am a CNA and CHHA with 18 years experience. I became a health care aide because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I started off as a CNA only but I wanted to do something that was more personable to an individual so I acquired my CHHA. And in doing so I was able to start my career off working for a hospice. By my starting that way, it gave me compassion on a whole different level. I worked as a shower aide for home health as well as hospice,going out to individuals homes for about 12 years. I later decided to experience different things, giving me a much more vast range of experience. I have work in Long-Term Care, skilled unit, Home health, hospice, rehabilitation, respite care, comfort Care, private duty, memory Care, elderly group home, and companion care. I have enjoyed every range of care that I have experienced being a part of. I enjoy helping others and just being able to give my client something to look forward to. Also, I realize that everyone is an individual so I try to treat a client based on their personality, including things that know that they enjoy. I use those things to help me when engaging with the client, as well as adding to the quality of care and quality of a client's life in general!
