My name is Shawndell Rideau I've been in the medical field for about 15 years. I'm experienced in skilled nursing, homecare, special disabilities, hospice care, rehab, etc . I love what I do being able to care for other is passion and blessing to put a smile on their face. Since I was a little girl going to the nursing home with my school choir singing and dancing for the residents always made them happy . At 19 I went and got my C.N.A license and went from there pursing my passion . I went to school a couple years back and got my Medical Assistant Certification which im proud of and want to go back for my R.N.

I decided to become a caregiver because I always felt in my heart that I was put on this earth to care for others. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to go to school to be a nurse but I found way regardless to help others. It's something that really fulfills my life, I love what I do and I would change it for anything.

I am a dependable, well organized, energetic, caring and loving person who has a passion for taking care of others. I have experience with the elderly mainly from caring for my own grandparents the last seven years of their lives. My grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia. My grandmother had suffered a stroke and had cancer. Caring for them is where my passion for taking care of the elderly began. But I have always had a passion for helping in general. I have cared for the mentally and physically disabled as well. I have my associates degree in Health and Human Services now and look forward to continuing to help others as I utilize my new knowledge.

I lived with my grandparents for a few years during Highschool as my grandmother was battling cancer, just to add the extra help around the house and to help her when needed with care for herself and my grandfather. I'm good company. I've also cared for children since I was a teenager from infancy to school aged. I've always cared about helping people who just need those extra hands or just someone to sit and hear their stories.

I have over 10 years experience. I am current on my CPR first aid, level one medication aide. I have worked in various areas of the health care field. Starting out with working with adults with different abilities, to Dr's office, hospitals, down to end of life care. I absolutely love working in the home setting because it's more personable. Im a very firm believer in treating others the way you want to be treated. With that being said your loved one will be treated as one of my family members. With honesty, dignity, respect and most of all love.
