I have over five years experience in working as a CNA. It comes naturally when you genuinly love what you do. Providing a safe and comfortable environment. Being a good listener and patience is key. I currently work at a nursing facility and I have a fan base there!! I can tell if I'm away for to long cause they are always asking other caregivers where is Lisa? When is SHE scheduled to return? When I do report to work, I'm always given hugs and words of appreciation. It's a good feeling. Going out of my way for a person is no big deal. It's needed sometimes cause your clients are your family too.

What makes me a great caregiver is my passion to work with others. I love taking care of all types of people no matter the circumstances. I love being a caregiver because I get to make new family memebers and make them feel like they have another person they can depend upon. A person achievement I am proud of is going back to school after having my daughter and getting my CNA at a young age so that I can perfect my skills and gain the experience I need for future career as a nurse.

I am currently working on getting my Bachelors degree in Social Work to work with the senior population so getting a job like caregiving would be very rewarding and fun as I have a love to all the seniors and enjoy working with them! I am a great worker and am always putting the needs of others before myself and making sure that the seniors are taking care with the best care possible. My love for working with seniors started with me working at nursing homes and made me want to get my social work degree to work with them! I have over 10 years experience. I am current on my CPR first aid, level one medication aide. I have worked in various areas of the health care field. Starting out with working with adults with different abilities, to Dr's office, hospitals, down to end of life care. I absolutely love working in the home setting because it's more personable. I am a dependable, well organized, energetic, caring and loving person who has a passion for taking care of others. I have experience with the elderly mainly from caring for my own grandparents the last seven years of their lives. My grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia. My grandmother had suffered a stroke and had cancer. Caring for them is where my passion for taking care of the elderly began. But I have always had a passion for helping in general. I have cared for the mentally and physically disabled as well. I have my associates degree in Health and Human Services now and look forward to continuing to help others as I utilize my new knowledge.
