I spent 11 years in the military in which I was honorably discharged at the end of 2012. I completed and received an associate degree in art while serving. I continued my education while being unemployed from the time I was released from the military until April of 2013 and earned a bachelor degree in psychology. A week later I began practical nursing school and graduated top of my class a year later and was rewarded the leadership award. I passed my state board and earned my Practical Nursing license with an IV certification. I have since worked as an admission nurse, hospice nurse, agency nurse, floor nurse, managed a long term care facility, and was a day shift manager as well as a day shift unit supervisor. I recently completed my associate's degree in science in nursing and am waiting to sit for boards for my registered nursing license. I am looking to slowly transition from the facility setting into private duty helping people in their home setting.

Background: !![?]experience with the elderly, autism, medical complexities and more I am a paraprofessional for students with special needs. I have experience with cerebral palsy, autism, handling g tubes, neuromuscular disorders, type 1 diabetes (have it myself as well), epilepsy, and Cornelia de Lange syndrome. I also have 5+ years of experience with the elderly and have experience with dementia, diabetes, dialysis, stroke victims, bathing/ dressing, toileting, transfers, hoyer lift, gait belt, lift to stand, and meal preparation. I am a non smoker, located in Union(but willing to travel), and have excellent references! I'm also studying Social Work online at Missouri State University.

I have been working in an RCF that houses Mental Health clients. I absolutely love my job but seeking more daytime hours. I am licensed as a MA-1, to give insulin, and in First Aid and CPR. In our homes, we are responsible for every aspect of client care (Medicine, Ordering, Charting, Doctors Appointments, Speaking with family, pharmacies, and medical staff, housekeeping and meals). Being in the hair industry for a long time , I am a very caring person, you have too,,,it's not just all about your hair! No I haven't gone to nursing school, but I have common sense and love to help and take care of people. I have raised 3 boys, 1 daughter who passed in 1994. My oldest son has special needs, autistic. so I know the ends and outs of someone needing assistance and help on a daily basis! My mother passed when I was young with lung cancer, so I dealt with that, my father was a heart patient..both my grandmothers had something with them as well...so I have basically been raised into taking care of people, as sad as that sounds. Honestly, I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't "helping" someone with something or someone!

Hi, my name is Lilian, and I'm currently looking for a job in senior services. I have about 3 years of experience working with elders. Since a very young age I have been caring for my grandmother helping around the house with whatever she needs, grocery shopping, and giving her , her medication. Iv always been told that's this is my calling and i'm hoping not only to help out in any way but to also be a open hear to talk to !

I am one of the most easy going, whole hearted, loving people you will meet. I take full pride in all of my work with my patients/clients, and I have been told by everyone I have cared for that it is my calling. That I have a servants heart. I started caregiving at the age of 19, there was something about it that completely drew me in and once I started there was no stopping because I love it so much. The best things about being a caregiver to me are the smile that lights up the room when I walk in, the happy tears when I doll up a lady after a good shower and make her feel beautiful when she hasn't felt that in a while, and being a part of so many wonderful families that you just cherish those memories for the rest of your life. It's truly a blessing. A personal achievement that I am proud of would be being named Employee of the Year and Month for taking on an entire census of patients by myself when both of my co workers had resigned. It was tough, but I got it done and my whole team through a celebration for me. Being a caregiver has taught me so many wonderful things in life, and I couldn't be more grateful.
