I orginally received my STNA in 1990 when I was a freshman in high school, and I have been doing that type of work since. I absolutely love taking care of people, helping them in their time of need, meeting their needs in advance, organizing their life and being a companion and a friend. I think I am a great caretaker because I actually take the time to care for elderly as they are my family. I currently have my masters in Human Services with a specialization in clinical counseling. My grandfather was recently diagnosed with dementia and I lost my grandmother last year due to complications while in a nursing home. Since then I have been an unpaid caregiver for a personal friend who needs 24/7 care. Keeping families at home and together is near and dear to my heart.
