I orginally received my STNA in 1990 when I was a freshman in high school, and I have been doing that type of work since. I absolutely love taking care of people, helping them in their time of need, meeting their needs in advance, organizing their life and being a companion and a friend. I love what I do and am very passionate about it.

I have only ever worked in an "at home" atmosphere, so I understand the needs and preference of keeping loved ones at home. I truly enjoy care for older clients, they are so intriguing and caring, which makes them easy to care for in my opinion. I am proud of the years of experience I have accumulated, and the range of skills I have. In any care situation I am able to adapt and provide the care the client or family of asks of me.

Hello, My name is Jeannine. I've been working and or volunteering within the human services field for over 12 years. I currently have my masters in Human Services with a specialization in clinical counseling. My grandfather was recently diagnosed with dementia and I lost my grandmother last year due to complications while in a nursing home. Since then I have been an unpaid caregiver for a personal friend who needs 24/7 care. Keeping families at home and together is near and dear to my heart.

Being a caregiver/Stna is a very challenging job especially working as an hospice aide can become very stressful at times. I take pride in what I do I started out as a caregiver 6 years ago and I am now moving forward to become a nurse. When I first started it was very overwhelming, the first job I had as an Stna was at an assistant living facility and I grew such a great bond with residents there, I noticed how some people who were there were alone and all they had was us. I made sure I went above and beyond to help them and let them know I cared about them and was there for them even if no one else was. Being there I seen people pass away with no loved ones there to be with them. I was introduced to a hospice company that sits bedside 24hours with someone dying so they are never alone. I jumped right on board as soon as possible because I loved that idea. I have been with this company for over a year now and now moving forward to become a nurse I absolutely love what I do and I enjoy putting a smile on someone's face when they see me coming or after providing wonderful care. I have gotten to know so many different families over the years who have expressed nothing but good things about me and I love that I can make a difference not only to the patient but to their family also, knowing that their loved one is in good hands when i am with them.

I love providing home care services to those that would otherwise not be able to do so.  The smile on their faces is overwhelming and makes me feel I have done my job right.  I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing. Meeting new people and providing care services that they can no longer do for themselves. One of my personal achievement I am proud of is when I worked as a resident safety assistant coordinator in the falls reduction program in the state of Minnesota the percentage before the program was very high and within a year and a half of the program our falls related injuries have reduced by half. I always give 100% and do the best job I can, with no exceptions or excuses. I also try to bring a sense of humor to my work. If I can add a smile or laugh to a client’s day, that means a lot to me. It is important to laugh.
