I'm a very caring and energetic woman of God. I have always loved helping others while also advancing my knowledge in the health field. I followed in my mother's footsteps as she became a CNA, AED, and now an ED. As a caregiver for 9 years, I've come to enjoy helping my clients live their best lives while encouraging as much independent care as possible to eliminate doubts of self worth. I love helping people. I am very compassionate to those I serve. I have been a caregiver for over 30 years. I completed my Nurse Assistant Training in 1989. It takes a special person to be a Caregiver. It is essential to be patient and kind, dependable, knowledgeable and SKILLED. It is also necessary to be creative when issues arrive. Back in my college days I worked in a residential care facility for people with various developmental disabilities, so I learned about safe body mechanics of lifting, toileting, and helping with personal care there. Since then, I've had a business as a massage therapist, so I am cognizant of joint, mobility, and musculoskeletal relationships, and glad to encourage clients to complete stretches or strengthening that may have been prescribed to them. I spent a few years working in labor and delivery and that helped me decide I wanted to make a difference and help others try to keep their independence by staying in their own home. I was absolutely not happy in 2012 when my dad was in a SNF and the care was not desired. He passed away at my home comfortably. I am a strong advisor for seniors and I am good with difficult clients and family members. I have a current CPR, BLS, 1 st Aid, food handling card and am hospice certified. I have reliable transportation, insurance and enjoy running errands, companionship, cooking, light housekeeping and overall helping others.
