I'm a very caring and energetic woman of God. I have always loved helping others while also advancing my knowledge in the health field. I followed in my mother's footsteps as she became a CNA, AED, and now an ED. As a caregiver for 9 years, I've come to enjoy helping my clients live their best lives while encouraging as much independent care as possible to eliminate doubts of self worth. I'm proud of all of the knowledge I have gained in the health field. I have learned about many diseases, disorders, and medications through my jobs and schooling. I'm proud of myself for saving a man's life through performing CPR on him for 10 minutes before the ambulance arrived. But most importantly, I've always been told by clients, friends, family, and even strangers, that they can't help but be happy, smile, and laugh around me. That brings me so much joy and pushes me to better myself in life. My career has been so rewarding and I can't wait to continue to help more people in need!

I love helping people. I am very compassionate to those I serve. I have been a caregiver for over 30 years. I completed my Nurse Assistant Training in 1989. It takes a special person to be a Caregiver. It is essential to be patient and kind, dependable, knowledgeable and SKILLED. It is also necessary to be creative when issues arrive. CPR and First Aid must be required; I have both the skills and certification. I handle emergencies calmly, efficiently, and professionally. Having a sense of humor is also a plus! I also enjoy learning about my clients ie, where they were born, where they spent their childhood or went to school, their first job, etc. It gives me great joy to be a Caregiver, my true calling! I remember when at the young age of 12 years old my mother would take me to work with her on the weekends where she was employed in a assisted living facility and I absolutely loved everything about it and Yes I put to work by her I made beds , I fed patients, I would sit and talk with them and pass out snack and fix their hair. I grew up and continued in her footsteps and have loved every minute of it .

I have always been drawn to being a caregiver because I have a need to make a difference in somebody's life that is at a disadvantage. I have done a wide range of caregiving over the years. I have done some in-home care for medically fragile patients. I have worked with students in the classroom that had disabilities limited to wheelchairs and needing assistance on all levels. But the main thing that I enjoy is the connections that I've made an impact in somebody's life for the better. Knowing that somebody is looking forward to seeing me makes me get up every morning. I spent a few years working in labor and delivery and that helped me decide I wanted to make a difference and help others try to keep their independence by staying in their own home. I was absolutely not happy in 2012 when my dad was in a SNF and the care was not desired. He passed away at my home comfortably. I am a strong advisor for seniors and I am good with difficult clients and family members. I have a current CPR, BLS, 1 st Aid, food handling card and am hospice certified. I have reliable transportation, insurance and enjoy running errands, companionship, cooking, light housekeeping and overall helping others.
