I'm a certified nursing assistant with more than 16 years experience in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living and private home setting. I became a caregiver through the influence of my great aunt and grandmother as they were the neighborhood caregivers. I watched them as a child and knew I wanted to do the same thing. I began by taking care of my grandmother when she became home bound in her older age. For the past three years, I was the care taker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. The thing I enjoy the most is feeling a sense of joy and humility in assisting those in need in conducting their activities of daily living. They are so appreciative. I consider it a personal achievement when they recover and there is no further need of my services. That confirms that my work with them has improved their quality of life.

Empathy and compassion are my core values. I always want to help, and I'm very patience especially when providing care. I enjoy doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I'm proud to have inspired hope in many whom I have assisted.

I enjoy working with people and I most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of my elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel I can get along well with a variety of elders. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. I don't ever say, "That's not my job" but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. I've always been the compassionate person caring for other even when I was teenager. Come up watching my mother and grandmother as nurses and childcare provider it became natural to me. So when started high school I enroll in Nurseing program pass with excellent grades during I class hours we went to nursing home for hand on experience I then new this was what I liked doing. During summer break of school I work at local nursing home facility also had to attend monthly educational inservices were I learn the RESIDENTS RIGHTS,HIPPA, BIOHAZARD POLICY and INFECTION CONTROL .

I am a very empathetic, compassionate and patient person. I enjoy working with the disabled, sick, elderly, children and anyone that can use the right nourishment and care. I'm extremely proud of my self because I didn't think I could do this with a busy schedule and so much dedication, but it has come natural to me to devote so much time and love into caring and spending time with my clients. It fills my heart to give families that peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are in good hands professionally and emotionally. I really enjoy what I do.

As an individual, I am compassionate and empathic, and I have a great deal of respect for other people. In the beginning of my nursing career, I was a certified nursing assistant. I decided to pursue nursing care when my grandfather was on the verge of death. We searched for someone who would care for our family in a respectful and caring manner, but we were unable to find one. So, i decided to pursue nursing, which I love, and now I am working as a registered nurse. Currently, I am working in the medsurg department as well as the emergency room. With six years of nursing experience, I have worked with many different types of patients, such as those with G. Tubes , IV medications, wound care management, and those with storks. It is my belief that one of the most enjoyable things about being a care giver is the fact that I get to learn a lot from the elderly. There is always something new to learn from them when you pay close attention and listen to what they have to say.

The reason I become a caregiver because I enjoy taking care of the elderly, sick, and handicapped. I started home health aide in 2000 and I have excellent letters of recommendation from clients and my past work history. I am dependable, honest, work well under pressure, I enjoy doing activities with my clients, and playing educational games. I have been during home health aide for over thirteen years and currently working with my current client. I am certified in American Heart Association, Licensed in under the DC Board of Nursing in Home Health Aide and also have a certificate in activities assistant.
