I became a caregiver because my mother in law moved in with us a few years back because she was I'll and needed help. I started working with ambercare as her full time caregiver. I enjoyed helping and caring for her very much. It was like I had finally found what I was meant to do. So unfortunately she passed. I continued on as a caregiver. I have worked with many family's in the passing years, with whom I've met lots of great people to care for. Many have become good friends and almost like family. That's what happens when you spend so much time caring for a person, it becomes more personal but on a very professional level. I care about my clients unlike the care you may see in a facility where there are just not enough caregivers to go around. So no one gets that extra special care and attention. I love helping people and I believe everybody deserves to live with dignity and as much independence as they would like.

I am very outgoing I love to help. I am there to give comfort to your family member. I started off doing hospice care and I just knew I had passion to help the elderly. I enjoy knowing that I am helping somebody and assisting them with the things they like to do in their own home. My name is Maria Dozier, am a 43 year old Hispanic educated woman. I've been married 18yrs and have been with my husband for almost 26 yrs. We have 3 beautiful children ages 25, 17 and 12. I live my life for my children and making sure that they are taken care of and brought up correctly. We moved to Santa Fe, NM almost 11 yrs ago. Til now I hadn't looked for work because I needed to be at home with my children. But now that their getting older I'd like to have a job. I have perfect transportation and am very reliable. I speak Spanish and English and am very resourceful and respectful when it comes to patient confidentiality.

I have been in home care for 26+ years. I did my training in upstate New York. Moved back to New Mexico in the late 90s and have been in home care sense. I love working /assisting people in daily activity's. It gives me pride to see my clients smile and laugh. Means even more to know I helped to for fill their desires of what needs to be done to make each visit a successful pleasant day knowing they will be content to relax everything has been done. Seeing the self accomplishment in their smile is more than a pay check to me. My clients become my friend, and a second family to me. A smile is worth a million words. Some of my personality traits that help me be a great caregiver would be how open-minded I am as well as loyal and friendly. I believe having the mindset of being open-minded allows many opportunities as well as meeting a diverse group of people and being able to succeed in different types of sheeting's and environments. Another personality trait I would use to describe myself I would say i carry is empathy and compassion.
