I decided to start working as a Caregiver because of my nana. I took care of my nana for multiple years and enjoyed every minute while she was with us. Hello! My name is Lydia, and I'm a mother of two (teen and preteen) and a recent transplant from Massachusetts. I have a very patient and calming presence (friends tell me that's my "super power") and am a sensitive and empathetic soul which has been a great support for me in my work as a caregiver and a teacher - I want to see everyone get what they need and feel important and cared for, and make it a point to listen carefully to what people share! I get a lot of joy and satisfaction from helping others which is what drew me to caregiving in the first place. I especially love to learn about people and help them find ways to appreciate and share their unique gifts in the world, which when elderly are often their stories and wisdom- that is one of my favorite parts of caregiving. My other passions are music and art/writing, and I've taught meditation for many years (and still do). I've also illustrated several books and am working on some of my own. After caring for my Grandfather for somtime before he passed, I decided that caregiving was what I wanted to do as a career.
