I also took care of Mr. Moncrief William Junior as a personal caretaker and Mrs.Bairds granddaughters I just enjoy what I do . My schedule is pretty much open except Sunday's. Hello my name is joy I have been in the medical field since I was in my early teens as a candy striper from there I went on to be a CNA when I was old enough and during that time of being a CNA for many years I also did In-Home Care and then at that point I started thinking about going back to school I went back to school got my medical assistant diploma I am CPR basic life support certified have been for many many years. In-Home Care came very personal to me when I lost my mother back in 2010 I was her so care provider and then losing my dad in 2013 I was his sole care provider doing everything for both of my parents. I worked for a Home Heath Agency for several years but did not like the way it was ran, due to its lack of professionalism, decided to try a different route. What drives me is I want to make sure that other families parents sisters brothers children are taken care of as I would have wanted somebody to do with my parents if I were unable to do s. I was inspired to become a caregiver after attending my husband needs when he became ill. What I like about being a care provider is looking forward in making a different in my clients day. Assisting with active and skills that they find difficult too do alone. Several personal achievement I'm most proud of is putting a smile on my client face. I have been a caregiver for 10 yrs. I was in Banking for many yrs, deciding to do something that at end of day was more rewarding. When my mother had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma I was there to assist everyday. She said to me "you would have made a good nurse". I love being a caregiver. I have been so lucky to work with families that have become friends even after I have left. Received my CNA license in 2012. Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's. Hoyer and Bardin chair experience , gate belt, catheter and feeding tubes. Meal prep, light housekeeping, bathing, med reminders, transportation , shopping and most important companionship.

I worked in various capacities and earned good wages, but, I only felt fully fulfilled when I had the opportunity to work part time as a caregiver. I developed and grew to love being a caregiver! Since then, my employers have commended me and as such, I have won several awards for a job well done. I have been commended by both my employers and those we served. I have an MBA with concentration in Human Resources Management, Master of Public Administration with concentration in Healthcare Management, worked as a Financial Counselor, Customer Service Representative, Program Manager, amongst others but being a caregiver makes me fulfilled.
I consider myself a very loving and caring person. I love spending time with my elders listening to them tell their stories from their childhood to the present. I believe that is what really aspired me to want to become a caregiver. I recently was caring for my mom who has dementia and my dad who past away from stage 4 lung cancer. Caring for them and the compassion i have for people definitely aspired me to continue to care for people.
I feel like what makes me an outstanding caregiver is that I love what I do. Making a difference in people's lives and being giving of yourself is what I think life is about. I find enjoyment in taking care of people and helping make their day a little easier.I have been a CNA for 18 years and haven't regretted a moment of it. Of course you have your trying days but you push right through it and take a positive attitude to remind yourself of the greater purpose for being in this field. I became a caregiver when my grandfather became ill from cancer. I assisted my grandmother in caring for him until he passed away. I was 14 years old at the time. After graduating high school I got my CNA licence and haven't looked back. My personal achievement was finishing Vocational Nursing school and continuing on to my RN degree.
