What makes me great, is the love, compassion, my loyalty to my clients and family. Everyone has a calling, a purpose in life. And for me is helping, giving and sharing with others. My biggest achievement is watching someone get their confident back and feeling that they are not in it by them selves. Sharing their smiles, laughter and even tears. I also took care of Mr. Moncrief William Junior as a personal caretaker and Mrs.Bairds granddaughters I just enjoy what I do . My schedule is pretty much open except Sunday's. As a former public school teacher, agency staff member and school administrator, I have had the opportunity to serve families in many capacities. As a child of a parent with Alzheimer's, I have care-giving experience. Additionally, with a psychology degree, I have had the opportunity to apply strategies and best practices in working with individuals that exhibit challenging behaviors. My special education background allows me to understand how to work with PT and OT needs. Recently, I cared for a gentlemen in his home fulltime through Right At Home agency. He just transitioned to memory care. I received caregiver of the month recently. My service at Home Instead allowed me many great experiences with clients from various backgrounds and needs. I was awarded Caregiver of the Quarter by the agency Dec. 2018. It was an honor and especially when it was my pleasure to serve them. I am very reliable and dependable and enjoy immensely helping families. Caring for others has been my life's focus. I enjoy preparing meals and ensuring clients have a quality life with dignity. I am healthy and exercise frequently to stay strong mentally and physically for my clients.
I am a great caregiver because I truly care about my clients. I chose this line of work because I Love senior adults! Hello my name is joy I have been in the medical field since I was in my early teens as a candy striper from there I went on to be a CNA when I was old enough and during that time of being a CNA for many years I also did In-Home Care and then at that point I started thinking about going back to school I went back to school got my medical assistant diploma I am CPR basic life support certified have been for many many years. In-Home Care came very personal to me when I lost my mother back in 2010 I was her so care provider and then losing my dad in 2013 I was his sole care provider doing everything for both of my parents. I worked for a Home Heath Agency for several years but did not like the way it was ran, due to its lack of professionalism, decided to try a different route. What drives me is I want to make sure that other families parents sisters brothers children are taken care of as I would have wanted somebody to do with my parents if I were unable to do s. I was inspired to become a caregiver after attending my husband needs when he became ill. What I like about being a care provider is looking forward in making a different in my clients day. Assisting with active and skills that they find difficult too do alone. Several personal achievement I'm most proud of is putting a smile on my client face. I am open to working any shift you need me for. I went to school back in 2015 to get my CNA license but unfortunately it did expire so it isn't valid anymore. I am going to start school in September to become a medical assistant.
I have been a caregiver for 10 yrs. I was in Banking for many yrs, deciding to do something that at end of day was more rewarding. When my mother had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma I was there to assist everyday. She said to me "you would have made a good nurse". I love being a caregiver. I love being a caregiver! After teaching medical assisting, I found that I wanted something else to do in my older years. I took care of my father for six months before his death in 2005. Ive always had a passion for care taking. I took care of a long time family friend that was diagnosed with breast cancer until she passed away. I assisted her with bathing, doctor's appointments, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and exercising. Im currently now taking care of my father who has Rheumatoid arthritis and I assist him with the same things. I help my sister take care of my nephew with down syndrome when she goes on vacation. Everyone in my family says I'm the caregiver in the family because I love helping others. I've always wanted to go into the nursing field but never jump towards my dream.
