I have a passion for helping others. I wanted to make a difference in the life of someone who was ill. Being able to bring some happiness to those in need. Being chosen as a lead aid, to be able to train new caregivers.

What makes me a great caregiver is my organization and ablity to multitask, I'm a reliable person. I enjoy people and treat people with respect. I've been a caregiver for 30+ years the reason I became a caregiver is, it's given is the ability to help other people, live the best posible life they can live. What I enjoy the most is watching people smile and heal. The thing I'm most proud of is raising my 4 children to be healthy young men.

Caregiving isn't for everyone, you have to have a great love for it and your clients! I've received Employee of the Month and Nurse Delegation certificate. I work for 2 locations under my company because I enjoy working so much! I truly enjoy the people I work for! I enjoy cleaning, organizing, grocery shopping, helping people get around and anything else I'm able to assist with! I love animals too!

Serving older adults is my passion and my vocation. I consider myself a life-enrichment care partner and truly feel I am in a place of honor when spending time with those I serve. In the past 12 years, I have served older adults in various settings: those living with a variety of health conditions and physical/cognitive abilities . I am compassionate, flexible, creative, have a strong moral and work ethic, a warm and cheerful personality, and a great sense of humor. I have earned the Basic Activity Director Certificate, an Introduction to Guardianship Certificate, as well as completed Hospice Basic Training I & II. I am certified in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED and I have an Oregon Food Handlers certificate. I can help with domestic duties including light cleaning, laundry, meal planning/prep, assist with appointment scheduling, transportation, shopping, and running errands. I can assist with bathing, offer companionship throughout the day, can engage individuals in meaningful conversations and activities based on their interests whether in-home or out in the community. I am willing to assist with specialty projects, home organizing, light gardening, and event planning. I am experienced in patiently instructing older adults how to use technology. Over 20 yrs experience caring for people of all ages and abilities. 5+ yrs as a CNA in PDX first working in a small facility for people w/ HIV/AIDS then onto temping at LTC Facilities all over PDX. 18 years working for UCP, OR w/ adults w/ CP & intellectual disabilities. 5+ yrs as an "Enhanced Worker" HCW doing in-home care for Aging & Disability Services. Now certified in WA as a HCA to work in-homes. Additional interests & education include: Cosmetology, Naturopathic Assistant & Juice Bar Manager. Study Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan & Meditation. Some massage school experience too. Strong interest in Nutrition and Whole Foods Cooking & Herbs. I'm a people person. I'm flexible and compatible with, I would say, just about every personality type. Just for the simple fact that I accept people for who they are and where they are. I like to say, essentially, I will meet them where they're at in life. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my desire to help people live as free and independent as possible. I enjoy being a caregiver because I love people and their company and I love hearing their stories of where they've been and what they've done. I think what I love most about being a caregiver is just the fact that I'm empowered to give a piece of myself to someone, to hopefully make their life better or more comfortable. I have a lot of achievements, but I think the one that I'm most proud of is the one where I had a client who would not allow anyone to draw their blood or do any kind of testing on them that was really necessary to make things better for them and get them a proper health care assessment. But, they were willing to put down their guard for me. Because of me they allowed work to be done and I can't tell you how thrilled I was that I would have that effect on somebody.

Hello! I am a experienced caregiver/medication aide who truly LOVES it. I have worked caring for seniors and individuals with disabilities for the last 5 years. It is something that I am passionate about. I enjoy having a positive impact in people's lives on a daily basis and by doing this job I am able to do so. I feel very competent in this field. I am generally a happy person and like to bring that with me to work. It makes me happy to bring that to work and it also makes my job better because you are what you are surrounded by!
