My first experience with being a caregiver was when my mother became ill. I had no help from siblings so I took care of my mom by myself. My mom suffered from Dementia. I've always been the type of person who loves to care for the elderly in our family. After my mom passed away I decided to continue to be a caregiver. I get so much joy out of knowing that I have helped someone that basically cannot help themselves. It gives me great joy to see smiles on their faces.

I make a great caregiver because of my current and past experience with Alzheimer's and dementia patients/clients. I was attracted to the caregiver profession because I have always been a Caregiver my entire life. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the smile on my client's face and the bond between our friendships. I am personally proud of my ability to stick to my position as an Alzheimer's and dementia caregiver, when others have quit or done a poor job with people that needed them. I was taught by my grandparents to respect my elders and that my elders are (wiser then thou) with that in mine I go beyond the call of duty to care my clients. If I should ever need care, I hope to be treated with the same care and dignity I treat my clients.

Hello my name is Shatevia but I go by (Sha) Im 36 and for the last 15 years I've worked for Richardson ISD as a Special Education Aide in the Developmental Program. During that time I was attending Remington College were I was enrolled in the Medical Assistant/X- Ray Tech course. During the course we explored different health care facilities as well as the different types of rolls a healthcare provider might perform at that specific facility. Then is when I was introduced to the Home Healthcare World, were I've gained 4yrs experience as a caregiver/ home health aide. And what I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that I get to do something that I love and that is make a difference in someone else's life. My personality traits that make me a great caregiver one being I have patience and everyone doesn't have that trait me personally I believe you're born with it you either have patience or you don't because patients isn't taught or learned it's already in you. Some other personality trait that makes me a great caregiver is that I'm very friendly I'm Dependable I'm trustworthy I have a great sense of humor I'm easy to get along with and I rarely ever get mad or frustrated. And I am very detail-oriented and I take pride in what I do I'm self-motivated and at times I take initiative and do things that I know needs to be done without having to be told to do so. Hi my name is Sonya,I've been a caregiver for over five years. During that time I have had many different clients with different needs. From companionship,Wheel chair,bed bound,in home, group home, hospice care,stroke recovery, surgery recovery, mentally disabled, diabetic, elzhimers, dementia,also mentally disabled children and young adults.

I like to know what each of my clients like to do & to be able to make them Happy in what I can .... I like to hear each of their needs sing to them & offer more than my service as a careguiver .... my goal is to gain their trust & that they can see me as a friend I love & enjoy my job In these 15 years of experience, each of them have given me pleasant moments to be able to listen to each of their needs.

I know that i am a great caregiver because i watched my mom choose my grandmother's caregiver and when i had to choose a caregiver for my dad i used the same system and then when i became a caregiver 15 years ago i was blessed to be hired to take care of a husband & wife and i said the best way to be a great caregiver is to say treat someone like they are your loved ones. And i always do that. Helping people have the best quality of life regardless of circumstances is my mission statement.

I love caring for people young , ederly, I feel good when I can make others feel good. I have been a caregiver for 25 yrs. I have worked with stroke pts, alzhemars, cancer ,parkinson,MS, trach, diabetes, ashma, breathing machine, stomach tube. I take being caregiver seriously.
