I gave her my word before she passed away in 2017 I would carry on that promise. My father passed away in 2020. Through compassion, love, and a whole lot of patience, he spent his last days in his own home.

I first started working with elders within my monastery taking care of their basic needs and taking them back and forth to doctor's appointments and following their doctors care of plan. That transmitted to my professional work life as a certified nursing aide, as I work in the nursing homes and also in private home settings. It brings me joy to see those who are in need of help receive the assistance that they need without taking away their dignity and also giving them the extra help that's necessary.... at the same time allowing them to do what they can for themselves.
