I've been in the caregiving field for 17 years. I started out volunteering in a nursing home and then went from that to live in Care. I have worked extensively in in-home care and at small group homes and big facilities as well. I've worked with a wide variety of clients and conditions. I have a passion for helping people and want to be there for those that don't have anybody else. I'm able to genuinely care but separate myself at the same time, which has made me very good at my job. I care about the quality of care that our patients receive and always do my best to improve their lives to the best of my ability when I work with people.

I became a caregiver because it's my passion!! I love to please others so they can live the best quality of life possible. I love the social interaction that is also involved with caregiving. My biggest achievement thus far that I'm most proud of (besides my my 2 children) is being noticed for my hard work and dedication at my last job. I was promoted to Program Coordinator and was then in charge of 9-12 employees all while getting to still do hands on works with my clients.My father was diagnosed with bladder cancer and we moved into his house so he could live the rest of his days at home on hospice. Those days were tough although VERY rewarding! I lost him 8/22/2011. I am 43 years old and a single mother of 2 ages 21 and 16. My daughter still lives in Minnesota attending MSU in Elementery Education. She graduates next fall and is hopefully moving to Arizona as well. I was born and raised in a small town in Minnesota. I decided that the subzero temps and blizzards were just not for me anymore, so I sold my home and moved to Prescott Valley! I had been here on vacation before and fell in love and knew that one day I would move here. I just moved here in June 2015

I am a very compassionate and empathetic person, I can understand or relate to almost any situation. I love to help others and see them able to do the things they love. I have been a CNA for 8 years. I had a high risk pregnancy and had to be on bed rest. Decided to try something different when I went back to work. I was then hired on at People First and became an in home caregiver for individuals with special needs. I became certified to work with members of DDD. I have Article 9, DCW training as well. I then was promoted to the Admin. position of HCBS Coordinator and am now supervisor of all of our caregiver's. My biggest personal achievement is my kids. I have an 11 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. They are my miracle babies and my whole world.

I have great companionship, I'm very caring, loving, I always make sure we have a good time together. Lots of smiles and happy days. I was raised by my grate grandparents and grandparents. Started caregiving around 17-18 years old. It doesn't even seem like work to me, it's like going to see a friend and what your able to help out with. To see them have that smile back On there face. Helping them enjoy life. Knowing I was able to make a difference in their life.

I started out as a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) in 1987 and have worked in Assisted Living, Retirement, Nursing Homes and Private Homes, so, yes, I have a LOT of experience, training and education in this wonderful field of caring. But the reason that I am a GREAT Caregiver is because... I truly Love to be of help to others.. I LOVE to CARE. I used to pray to God..."Give me the tough ones, please God, give me the hard ones." Why did I ask God that favor? Because I know that I have the heart and the stamina...the responsibility...the respect...the love to do this labor of love. I have seen many caregivers in the long time I have doing this work. Some just needed a job. Luckily there are a few good ones like me who's hearts are into it. People who are in need of anything from a companion to serious nursing/hospice care... tread in waters not familiar to most of us. I have been there... I have been there many times, the needs are many and often times extremely demanding. Feeding, reading, washing, cooking, cleaning, driving......knowing when to speak and what to say..... knowing when to quietly listen. This is what I believe I was put here on earth to do. People know me as 'a caregiver'...and yes... that is what I am. Call me and rest assured knowing that your loved one is in the very best of capable and loving hands.
