Became a caregiver to care for my Father in Law, Hospice trained me and he originally stayed in my home 5 months before passing at 92 years old. Since that time I've stayed with individuals and couples in different settings with different medical conditions. I am empathetic , happy Christian woman; enjoy helping others-giving. My name is Angie Brown, I have experience working in skilled facilities and also assisted living. For the last few years I have been doing home health care. I love being able to help families out and hopefully make a difference, its a very rewarding feeling, I'm proud of the way i take care of my clients and treat them with respect and provide them with the best care possible, I am covid vaccinated and cpr certified.

I absolutely love the career I am in. This is my calling. I have 9 yrs of experience helping families with their loved ones. I took care of my mom who had uterine cancer for 3 years. After she passed my dad got sick Had to have a pacemaker and had multiple aneurysms. And then he got cancer. I also cared for my mentally and physically handicapped sister who developed non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. All over a span of 10 years. I've cared for one gentleman over the past year and a half and I'm hoping to pursue a nursing career in the spring

I became interested in this field When I started taking care of my granmother. I was her live in care giver along with my mother. For 3 years. Sadly she passed away in April 2019. And then tragically and very unexpectedly my mother passed away in June 2019. Having gone through that, I put my entire heart in this kind of work. Because it has truly become my passion. One thing I have learned about myself throughout my nursing career is how much I enjoy the elderly population. I have experience in large nursing homes, small home to individual care. The intimacy of individual care has me hooked! Really getting to know a person, what they really enjoy, that's what it is all about. I was lucky enough to have had my grandparents in my life till a couple years ago. I took care of them at the end, as tough as it was, they had a beautiful end of life. To me, that is the most important thing. To allow and encourage them to do what makes them happy while offering the support they need. That could be something simple like having that favorite meal, going for a ride to a favorite place, or just having someone to talk to. It is my responsibility to ensure they are able to enjoy life, and I am committed to doing all I can to make them smile each day.
