The most important thing I came to understand in my years in this field, that most home health companies are quick to hire just about anyone regardless of passion for the job. My patients I had would get so angry because it was never the same person and it made them uncomfortable. So i decided to take the necessary steps to work for myself so that i can hire and train the best and ensure that i am always providing the type of care we would want for our own family. What makes me a great caregiver is a few things 1) This is a true calling that I am gifted with. I am a great listener and patient with people in general. I spent time as a young girl around my Grandmother which taught me a lot. I was well trained in companionship and wasn't even aware. I have plenty of experience from my past. The rest just came natural. What i like most about being a caregiver is helping those that can't help themselves. This field has given me a sense of purpose. One thing that i am most proud to say is that I am current with my CPR and First aid training, as well as fully vaccinated. Not because my job requires it but because I want to be safe and keep the ones I care for safe in every way.

Am a very happy person, so I always make sure my clients are happy. I joke around with them, and do funny dance. It's my way of showing them love and care, No matter how their situation is. Cause I believe it's a blessing to care for people who need help in anyways that you can, either with money or with love. since I don't have the money to do so, I chose to make a difference in peoples lives with the only thing I have a lot to give, which is LOVE. My achievements was working with a lady who fell into depression following the death of her only remaining son, who had some type of rare cancer, but didn't think he was going to die,while she was also in the hospital recovering from hip replacement.I walked into her and her grandchildren's life Three weeks after the son's death. I was assigned to work with her to recuperate from her surgery, but I ended up being like a therapist to the family. And thanks be to God, her depression, was very well controlled with medication, and We became very good friends. So to me I think, that's was my greatest achievement And am always grateful and proud of that .

I love being a caregiver because I enjoy helping others I dont look at this as Just my job when I go home I feel like I actually did something productive for the day. I have been a caregiver off and on for 13 yrs and I love it!
