Hi , My name is Tenesia i am an very optimistic person with a big heart. What attracted me to being a caregiver is growing up i eventually took the role of taking care of my grandmother . I truly loved being the person that could take care of her when she needed it the most. I love being a caregiver because i love knowing that i can help somebody in need. I have always enjoyed helping others and being there for someone when no one else can. I have worked as a registered behavior technician for children with neurodiversities and worked as a caregiver for all aged individuals. What made me want to be a caregiver was the ability not only help others, but to be a companion as well. I also enjoy being able to have a flexible schedule for school and my family. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is hearing the stories my clients have to tell, building a relationship and putting a smile on their face. My personal achievement that I am proud of is being able to juggle school, work and a family. I am proud to say I will be Class of 2023!

I graduated as a Practical Nurse from a vocational school in January 1994. I worked as a graduate Practical Nurse in a long term care facility until I took my board exam prior to getting licensed in May 1994. I worked as a licensed practical nurse until 2006. I worked in a variety of settings. I currently attend an LPN refresher online course. I enjoy working with a diverse verse population. As a nurse, comes compassion, patience, empathy, and flexibility. I have experience: collecting & documenting vital signs to track current patient conditions; monitoring vital signs & blood glucose levels in response to medication administration ; evaluation of patient concerns , procedural changes for effectiveness & making necessary adjustments; observed, charted, & reported developments in patient health care conditions in 10 to up to 120 patients in skilled & long-term care facility ; communicated concerns regarding clients' status, care & environment to nursing supervisor, clinical care supervisors, physicians & case managers. ; documented patient intake & diet requirements upon feeding & monitoring; educated on optimal treatment; responded to patient alarms and needs assessment request to identify course of treatment; colostomy /urostomy care; post surgery care; trach suctioning & stoma care ; admissions & discharges; transcribed doctor orders; skin assessment; head to toe assessment ; monitoring picc , midline & peripheral IVs including administration of antibiotics; patient family teaching; gasotromy stoma care and tubefeeding; suture/staple removal, insertion & removal of ng tubes. My personal achievement is watching my grandchildren grow. I love to read and learn new things.

I currently work in a long term/rehab facility in which I work with all different ages more geriatric patients with many different diagnosis. I have experience with Dementia patients as well.

I became a caregiver because i enjoy helping others.I like the satisfaction of knowing that i am making someone else's life more tolerable and comfortable.I am proud to say that i have saved a few peoples lives when they stopped breathing or was choking, and i acted quick enough to do that for them.I have been a CNA for 30+ years. I am dependable and honest I have the willingness to learn every day because there is always something to learn. I have family members that needed assistance with daily living skills. Ifeel that everyone somehow needs a little help, so I got into healthcare. I enjoy meeting and learning about the adventures and history of the person I care for. I find that so rewarding, I got to take care of my dad during his journey and that was a blessing for me to be able to care and spend as much time with him that is memorable, and I will cherish that time I had with him.
