I, Shonita Badillo became a caregiver because I love working with the elderly and, sick. Caregiving has always been my passion because, when I was a teenager I cared for my grandmother. I enjoy being a caregiver because, it gives me joy to see a smile on my clients face, and, also I feel I can bring a lot to their life such as understanding patience and, compassion. I feel I have achieved experience over the last 15 years. As I continue to work as a caregiver I feel more confident that I know my job and, that I can relate to my clients better. I have 15 years of experience as a certified nursing assistant. I have worked in a hospitals nursing homes and, private homes. My future plans is to futher my nursing experience. I hope to find a nice family to work for because I feel I have a lot to bring to a patients life. My availability is working days part time or fulltime.

Adukt Daugthers twins 27, 25 & 22 which one of my twins has cerebral palsy,she was my motivation to begin my career in the medical field. My personality traits that I'm naturally a caring person and have compassion for others. I love to help others. What attract me in been a caregiver is my mother who is a retired nurse for over 20 yrs and my grandmother who always helping people in need at her age of 91 she still does her part in the community. In 2010 my grandfather pass away of myeloma I was his caregiver. All this and more attracted me to become a caregiver. I enjoy most about been a caregiver is an opportunity to show love, respect, and dignity to those in need. It is a deeply fulfilling experience that allows me to learn more about myself and grow as an individual. Caring for someone is a powerful and intimate relationship that can bring about a strong connection and bond. When caring for someone, it is important to show love, trust, and understanding. I was attracted to this job because it's very similar to what I wanted to go to school for; which was nursing. I later changed my major to speech language pathology and I love it! My name is Katy! A little about me I took care of my father when he was alive he was bed ridden due to amputation, diabetes and kidney disease. I have experience in Alzheimer's and Dementia care,Home health care as well as Assisted living care . Experience in transferring and Diabetic care. I was also a housekeeper for many years and a personal assistant. I am able to multitask very well. I really love giving time to talk with my patients/clients to make them feel great! They just need someone to talk to. Great companion ship is key! I love working with the elderly and listening to the stories they have from back in the day. I always try to do my best and give great care to all my patients. I am COVID and Flu vaccinated.

I consider myself blessed to have a connection with the elderly. When I was a 14 yrs old had the most amazing bond with the 93 year old mother of our church and I will never forget her. I personally feel responsible for the helpless ; I didn't know I needed a reason why. However, I have realized it's not for everyone. I take pride in the connection and the ability to bond with a person in need of understanding and compassion. I now consider it a gift and I am humbly grateful.
