Hello. My name is Patty. I have been a caregiver for over 10 yrs . I started when my best friend was diagnosed with ALS. After she passed away, I went back to school to become a CNA and Hhc so I could specialize in caring for patients with ALS and the elderly patients. Since then, I have cared for 4 additional people who have all been diagnosed with ALS. Between in home care, doctors visits and hospital stays I have been with these amazing people every step of the way through this debilitating disease. I am a caring and loving person. I work hard and always go out of my way to take care of my patients. I have experience in tracheotomy breathing treatment's, G-TUBE care feeding, wound care, medications and other infections. I deal with Medicare and insurance companies. I am willing to drive and I enjoy being with my patients. There health and well being always come first..

I have 30 year's total experience in the field. Love what I do, its my "calling." Im caring nurturing, loving, and like to make my client laugh whenever possible, even if it means that I look silly. Laughter is a major spice of life. I can be assertive if need be, in a loving manner. I'm a great cook, and love hearing stories of my clients life. Im punctual, dependable, and responsible, trustworthy. Communication is key. I also have knowledge of holistic care. Herbal, remedies, and essential oil remedies. My experience is wide range. Over the years I've learned so much, and different technique's, and continue to learn even now. Im certified as a Caregiver in all 3 level's of care, Medication Administration Certified, Direct Care Worker (DCW) Certified, hold current Food Handlers Card, CPR/AED Certified, First Aid Certified. Background Clearance Card is pending. Also, current with my TB test (neg-).

What makes me a great caregiver is the way I care for others. I like to take care of others as I would want to be cared for, I give lots of love, I am very kind, caring, thoughful, and always thrive to make sure the saftey of whom I caring for is well attended and cared for in the most safest way possible. I became a caregiver long before I became an adult. I would always reach out to help others and as I grew older it all came so naturally. I like being a caregiver honestly to help others in need, to have the best possible care that a person or child can receive, I know why I am here and its to help others. A personal achievment I am proud of is, tho I have my own family at home I am still able to care for them 100% while teaching my family its okay to lend a helping hand when in need.

I am a pre-medical student and am thoroughly knowledgeable in disease progression and management. I have been working at a cancer center and have become well-versed in the management of cancer, palliative care, and the side effects associated with systemic treatments and comfort measures. I have always put my patients before myself in my line of work and I will not walk away from a situation until it is completed and all questions have been answered. I put my entire heart into caring for patients and that is why it has been my calling in life. In all of my healthcare jobs, I have grown close to all of my patients and have formed relationships I will never forget. I recently graduated from Arizona State University, with honors, and was featured at my local ASU campus as well as the main campus in Tempe for my distinctions. I credit my success in academia as well as my profession to my passion for healthcare and the drive to make a positive impact on all of my patients.
