Currently, I am enrolled in an accelerated nursing program at Roseman University of Health Sciences. I have worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant throughout Arizona from hospitals and clinical settings to nursing homes, assisted living and home health. I truly have a passion for caring for others and making a difference. I love learning and getting know new people as well as finding at least one thing to make someone who is not feeling so great feel better. School has not always been easy for me because of how expensive it is to go. I worked and went to school full-time throughout my first degree. I am most proud of overcoming my fear of going back to school and pursuing my nursing degree that I will finish by October 2015. Something about me is that I was born and raised in Arizona and I am the youngest of 4 and the only girl. I played banked-track roller derby for Arizona and was awarded Most Valuable Player for 2 games in a row last year.

At age 52 after seeing how much help, compassion and empathy my parents needed in their later life, I decided to be a caregiver. I have enjoyed listening to clients reminiscing about their past wonderful life. I am ready to sympathize with them when they need someone to show empathy. I am ready to assist them achieve their activities of daily living like meal prep and eating, tooth brushing, bathing, and making sure they live in a clean and safe environment in their own homes. I can live in their homes and look after them, or spend hours with them, I can drive them to their doctor's appointments, hair salon and even to holidays if they require me to. I have been a CNA since I immigrated to the USA. During my first 10 years here, I worked as a CNA during the night and went to college during the day, took lots of classes, and finally graduated in Business Administration. I got a job in a county state office up North but I quit and returned to Nursing Assisting. I was married for 45 years, and divorced. I have 5 children and 15 grandchildren. I love assisting the elderly in their homes. Working with the elderly gives me such satisfaction in knowing what to expect sooner than later in life. I hope to live a healthy, happy, long life like some of my wonderful clients.

I've been working with seniors since my college days in the early nineties as an intern, volunteer and a business owner. I am compassionate, trustworthy, respectful and dependable. I enjoy work that involves helping people improve their lives. I particularly like working with seniors because they remind me of my grandmother who I was close to. Older people have amazing life experiences to share and they need assistance from someone they can trust. I am proud of my degree in Social Work and my family.

My name is Lisa and I am extremely passionate about caring for and assisting individuals who cannot properly care for themselves, produce the best possible quality of life. I spent 10 years working in 2 different hospitals, caring for patients in a wide array of medical situations including cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, quadriplegia/paralysis, stroke, hospice, and more. In addition, I spent more than 6 months providing home care to several patients, including a wonderful gentleman with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), who ended up becoming one of my best friends until the day he passed away. Beyond providing medical care to individuals with life-threatening or detrimental illnesses/handicaps, my heart really lies in making a deep connection with each person I come in contact with. People are scared when they're sick or not feeling well. I also understand that bringing a new caregiver into the home to care for your loved one, can cause a bit of fear or anxiety. Of course, everyone wants their loved one to receive the best possible care, and I will always go out of my way to make sure my patients are the #1 priority under my care. I promised myself to treat every single patient as if they were my family, my grandmother, grandfather, etc no matter how busy or hectic the hospital was. My patients always receive the same tender loving, unconditional compassion and attention that I would give to any of my family members, or even myself. Lastly, I believe in maintaining consistent and thorough communication with my patient's family members. Your needs are my concerns and your specific instructions are my priority. I will always make decisions that are in the best interest of my patients, however, the family knows their loved one the best, and I respect very much.

As a mother of five children and one grandchild- family is very important to me. Likewise- their health. Nurture is to nature as nature is to nurture- and I guess I am a fan of them both. The cycle of life is a beautiful one, and I aim to be a positive force in the life of everyone I encounter. I love to meet new people and value their thoughts and opinions. I went to school for Respiratory Therapy because I wanted to help people with breathing problems- my mother passed from both lung cancer and COPD. The program was very informative, and the clinical- profound, but I had to leave the program to take on another job once my niece came to live with me after her mother's health declined. The compassion I have to help others has never left. I worked as a caregiver for a company in California for two years and also for a private family. Taking care of a loved one can be very difficult, especially when one must juggle a career and children's activities as well. I know it's hard to manage your time under the circumstances, but this is where I come in. Realizing you need help, is the first step to getting it. I'm ready to help your loved one reach and maintain their potential physically, and emotionally. I am an honest, caring, trustworthy, funny (at least I think so), empathetic, and understanding caregiver, ready to assist in your time of need. I've worked with seniors who've had problems with dementia, mobility issues, MS, diabetes, high blood pressure, post-operative surgery, stroke victims, and more. I aim to give my clients the best in quality care.

I am new to caregiving, but have found great pleasure in it. The current pandemic gave me an opportunity to come off the road and assist my parents during this difficult time. My years in retail have made me a terrific multitasker, a patient person, and has given me the ability to blend well with multiple personality types. I'm looking for at least 20 hours a week.

I am a determined and strong willed individual. I was attracted to the field of medical due to a family member of mine having back to back multiple health problems until he unfortunately passed away before I finished my CNA schooling. His unfortunate health history from the time I was a little girl opened my eyes to medicine and helping not only sick but families as well. My goal is to make my patients feel as independent as they can be/allowed, letting them know there are still kind-hearted young people in the world and also making the family feel comfortable and safe knowing their loved one is in safe hands. I'm personally proud of having the gift to help those in need and knowing from such a young age. I am going to continue my education in the future and become a RN.

At first when I became a caregiver I was unemployed and at the time I took the job, now it's been 6 years and it is very rewarding. I find satisfaction in helping those that cannot do for themselves. It's a personal achievement to consistently be there for others. I enjoy kayaking, swimming, visiting with my daughter, and travel to see my sister and mother in Tucson.

Hello, my name is Misty and I am a forty seven year mother of four. I suppose that is where my love of taking care of people began, raising my amazing children. I was lucky enough to get to stay home with them all, it was a gift I'll always treasure. From there I had the chance to take care of my husband's grandmother for an extended period of time. That experience touched my heart, and when I was able to go and care for my 95 year old grandmother recently I knew that I wanted to do the same for others. I truly have a heart for this work, and bringing Joy and comfort to people is a blessing to me as much as it is for them.

I have been in the field of Nursing for more than twenty years, caring for all kinds of people, from babies & young children to seniors. Most of my work as a Nurse has been in Home Health and Hospice Care, as well as Alternative Medicine. I love my work and deeply enjoy being of service to others. I am a deeply spiritual person, without being overly religious, and I strive to see the goodness and divinity within each person that I meet. I have had experience in all areas of Nursing, and I am very proficient with my clinical skills. In addition to being a Registered Nurse, I was trained as a Medical Social Worker, and this training has been of great value as I work with people who are ill and facing difficult challenges and I work with the family members as well. I am very aware of the difficulties and challenges that families face when a loved one is ill and disabled, and I make myself available to the those family members as well as the patient, knowing that they are also in need of support and care. I see every day as a special gift, and every moment as an opportunity to serve, to love and to experience the joy and sweetness of this gift we call life, even when life is full of challenges and pain.
