Hi I'm abigail I'm 19 with a highschool degree and taking online classes at Bakersfield. I've been passionate about being an aid to people who need assistance since I was young. I'm very nurturing , patient and geniunely enjoy helping others. I'm very compassionate and take this line of work seriously. I believe helping people is one of the greatest achievements anyone can do.

I am a people person and absolutely love making new friends, no matter what their age! I am a major in psychology so I love learning about individuals personalities and how they interact with others. What attracted me to being a caregiver is when my great grandmother passed away. She was 97 years old and was living in my home. She was my beat friend and I made sure she felt loved and accompanied while running errands. I would love to make someone else feel loved and special, because everyone needs someone! A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I got certified to instruct three different Silver Sneakers fitness classes. I help seniors 65+ to keep their bodies healthy and strong!

I think I would be a great caregiver in the fact that I am patient, caring, willing to help with whatever needed, I am honest, reliable. I would enjoy getting to know patients. Attraction to this is caregiver is being able to learn and grow in the cargiver position.

I believe what makes me a good caregiver is the experience I have acquired from my current job. I've learned individuals with an intellectual disability just require alot of patience and overall good companionship. With good patience and compassion , these individuals become like ones own family and I believe that is a key trait to be a great caregiver. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver at first was it had a great schedule for my schooling . Very quickly though I noticed I genuinely enjoyed servicing the better of ones quality of living. I'm not afraid to do necessary tasks most people wouldn't do and I think thats why I like my job. What I mostly like about being a caregiver is learning along with the person you're caring for. Just like how I'm learning how this individual thinks and acts , they also learn my own mannerisms. With that we both learn each day and build a trust with each other that makes the working environment very fruitful. A personal achievement I am proud is taking the initiative to better my mental state . I once was very down and each day going down a hole. I took a solo trip to Korea and went out to get lost to find my purpose again. Through these travels I gained motivation and ambition to seek betterment for myself. I came back from that trip happier and just full of energy to take on life head on. It may not be an achievement that came with a trophy but for me this personal achievement of picking myself up has also been my greatest accomplishment.

I am a very caring and loving person that loves to help others. I love the line of work I'm in. I started caregiving for my mother a few years ago and seen how much of a help I can be to others that struggle like my mom does on a day to day basis. I enjoy being a friend to my patients I care for in any field I worked in. I am proud of how I'm able to adapt to everything around me and I'm never afraid to try new things. I am also proud of the woman I am because I can help others when they need it most.

Becoming a caregiver honestly was by luck. I was applying everywhere looking for a job when I got a call for an interview. I went in began the posses and the next day started working! I fell in love with what I was doing. My job wasn't just a job it was more then that I loved all my clients and their families. I don't know how to explain exactly why but just knowing I was being able to help someone and make them happy with my company was great. A personal achievement for me would have to be knowing that I was making my clients happy and comfortable and knowing that I was good at my job 100%. I have just turned 27 in October and I have a 6 year old, I love my family. I have bounced around job to job trying to just find where I belong and when the door opened and I was blessed with being a caregiver I found where I was meant to be all along!

There are many caregivers, but what makes me a good care giver is I have Empathy and compassion. Ive worked with many different people in different settings such as, homes and nursing care facilities and I've learned that to be a good caregiver you have to show both empathy and compassion. I also have patience. Working as a CNA I learned to have patience because people have many different needs. I learned to put myself in others shoes and to see what things from their point of view and see what it is like to ask people for help. I am also reliable. A great care giver is someone who can be counted on to be there when help is needed. I understand that those needing home care service need a reliable and dependable caregiver. Being a caregiver I had many rewarding experiences, but the most gratifying and memorable experience I had was when I worked in a Nursing Home and a resident was unfortunately passing away and the family of the resident were in the room, I was assigned to the resident and it was very difficult for me because it was when I had barely started working as CNA. I stayed with the resident and talked to the family and told me happy memories they had of the resident. Sadly the resident passed away that night and the next day the family came to the facility and personally told me thank you for being there for their dying family member. They also told my supervisor and they gave me recognition. After that experience I knew being a CNA was more than just a job

Im self confident, outgoing,compassionate I believe everyone deserves and should be able to have and keep their dignity and their privacy no matter what stage of life or stage illness they might be in

I think what makes me a great caregiver is the compassion and love have for my resident. They appreciate anything I do for them. I have been caregiving for 3 years and fell in love with the job. I am currently going to school to become a future RN and have an even bigger impact in a persons life.

I am a patient person. I like to exercise and am very energetic. My plan one day is to become an RN. I enjoy caring and helping others in need. I have accomplished a lot in my life but my greatest accomplishment is how I have succeeded in the medical field and I plan to continue.

Hello, my name is Danielle Brooks. I am twenty one years old and was born and raised in Bakersfield, Ca. I am a very loving, respectful, intelligent, beautiful, hardworking young woman and the list can go on and on. I am also very active in my church. I live at home with my family. They are very supportive of my college attendance. My parents are always there to help in my course work when needed. I am a mid-term Stockdale High School graduate. I plan to get my AA in biology from Bakersfield College after the fall semester and then continue my education at Cal State University Bakersfield. I am pursuing a bachelor of science degree in nursing. My goal is to become a registered nurse in prenatal care, a nurse that helps women who are in labor prepare to have their baby. I chose nursing as my major after completing research on different career paths I was interested in. I also was able to learn more about the medical field by volunteering and job shadowing at San Joaquin Community Hospital. I volunteered for one year in the labor and delivery unit, and the cancer center. I observed deliveries, epidural procedures, and learned medical coding. Also, I helped in the Gift Shop, assisting customers with completing purchases. After doing my research I then knew that being a nurse would be something I could see myself doing and also a job that I would have a passion for. While Being in college I have became a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant that i have continue for 2 years. I can truly say that I love working with senior citizens because I am able to given them the 100% care they need and also show them love like their my family.

I am a retired Registered Nurse, after an enlistment in the US Navy as a Corpsman (Medic) and 20+ years in Home Healthcare as an RN. I have been in the nursing/healthcare field for 41 years. Currently I work 2 days a week as an infusion RN, and a 1/2 day a week as an volunteer RN at the local free clinic. I speak minimal Spanish and some German and read Greek.

I have 15 years experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant, I have also done Medical Assisting..I am a very caring ,compassionate, honest, dependable, and trustworthy individual that takes my proffession very seriously. I enjoy working with people of all ages and always respect there dignity as a person..

I love being a caregiver because I get to help those who can no longer help themselves. I just think of my kind of work as if that was me who needed help and how I would want someone to treat me. I love talking to the person that I'm helping and getting to know them if they are able to talk. I also like doing little special things for them like bringing them something that they like to eat. I became a caregiver because I wanted to know how to take care of my ailing grandfather. In 2002 I had applied and got into the CNA program at Sun bridge Care facility in Watsonville, CA. I helped my grandmother with my grandpa until he passed than I started working with Sun Bridge in 2003 for a few years. I like to talk, and love to listen to all of those important life lessons and interesting lives they had led. I have learned so much while working as a CNA, I loved it. I have now achieved one of my goals and that is to get into Nursing School, and become a nurse. I always wanted to become a nurse and now I am. I am a mother of 3 and I have so much patience and care to give. I am very careful and have a lot of experience with the elderly. I am currently a Licensed Vocational Nurse and I am seeking a dependable position to apply my nursing knowledge and provide the best possible care to each and every patient.

I have always loved caring for other people. I had a grandfather who passed from Alzheimer's, during those years I helped with his changing, bathing, and personal care. I feel I have what it takes to help others, I love working long hours, and having that interaction with others.
