Why did I become a Caregiver? I became a Caregiver because my Mother became very ill. She had 6 children. I am number #2. My Dad had taken care of her as long as he could (6) years. The family ask me to do it. It was an honor to care for my Mother for 9 months. I learned so much. What do I like about being a Caregiver? Well, you can't just say you want to be a Caregiver for someone. Your personality and their personality have to fit in order for things to go smoothly. In order for that to happen takes something on both parts. The person you are caring for have to be humble and appreciative the same as the caregiver. They have to let you Love them. If the patient has mistaken ideas about the caregiver on first glance, it can be difficult. A Person achievement I am proud of. I took care of my Mother, when she was ill. It was an honor. I would not mind experiencing the whole thing again for someone's Mother or parent. I hope someone will love me THAT much when I get to that point. Everyone said I did a good job. It was a good feeling. Tell us something about yourself. I'm honest and I tell the truth. I want the same in return. Even if the truth hurts. It saves everyone time.

I am dependable, I have more than ten years experience with elderly, mental and physically challenge children and adults. I love working with people and meeting their needs, I'm loving and caring and most of all trusting and detailed oriented.

I have help clients or residents with the Activities of Daily Living, perform personal care activities; hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, toileting and shaving,Talk and give company to clients and participate in resident activities,Prepare hygienic meals and snacks for clients,Provide clients or residents with transfers assistance by moving them in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or cars, Change bed linens, clean and iron residents’ laundry and assist keep residents’ room, cabinet, and dresser drawers neat and clean,Maintain a specialized approach to responsibilities such as uniform, start times and absenteeism.What I like about being a care giver is that I meet new people and providing caregiving services that they can no longer do for themselves.Also I enjoy the opportunity to impact clients’ lives and make a difference to them. I appreciate the chance to get to know clients and their families and become an integral part of their lives.

I became a caregiver from taking care of my grandfather from a young age.As a caregiver I enjoy getting to know my clients and becoming great friends.I am proud of my military background I am currently in Army national guards.

Hello I always wanted to be a caregiver that is one of my many passions. I am CPR and BLS certified.

I became a care giver because I was raised by my grandmother and when I was around 11 or 12 years old my grandmother had a stoke which devastated me because she was my everything so I'd watch the nurses at the hospital and also when they'd come out to our home and I Just got this feeling of i'd love to be able to help my grandmother out more as well as make others feel better especially my grandmother so I went to school to become a medical assistant and shortly after I took a certified nursing assistant course I also became my grandmothers care provider for 7 years until cancer took over her body even doing the hospice stages I cared for my grandmother unfortunately she passed away in 2012 . I was also a caregiver for my aunt who passed away from cancer as well in 2013. Honestly my grandmother had a lot of health issues and I was her number one comforter and supporter as she was mine so the moment she fell ill I instantly developed a strong passion for helping others out. I'm thanful I was able to be blessed with a passion and empathy for people in need, I beleive in my heart I did everything I was able to do for my loved ones I've lost plus the numerous amount of people I was able to help and show love and support to at the nursing home I worked at for 7 years. I Took some time off to focus on my family I have 4 children a husband but I'm ready to step back out there and do what I was put here on this earth to do which is help others.

Hello my name is Gwendolyn Peel, Im a hard working single mother of three who all i have raised 2 sons, and a daughter all are successful as adults. Since the age of 12 i always wanted to help people i used to clean homes, go to the store, and cook for the eldely in my neighborhood. As an adult i took care of my grandma and uncle for 10 years at the same time, it was challenging, but i did it with God's help. I have a special calling in helping people. I also had the chance to feed the homeless in my community, so u see im equipped for the job. All i want to do is help people so they can know someone cares, and that's me. I will always have a heart for people its been in me all of my life, and im greatful.

I am competent in medication administration, assessments, oxygen administration, wound care, ADLs, Documentation, as well as other skills within my scope. Currently I am in the masters program for public health and want to work with individual clients. Caring for those in need makes me feel good. I enjoy caring for others because it brings me joy to help those who are unable to care for themselves. Being a caregiver has taught me a lot about different diseases, disabilities, and interacting with diverse individuals. A previous client of mine had diabetes; and her blood sugar levels were very hard to maintain; however as I worked with her over the months with diet and exercise her blood sugar levels began to stabilize. I was extremely proud of her. I am a hardworking compassionate woman who has always loved to care for others. I also volunteered at Palmdale Regional Medical Center for a year.
