I have experience in taking care of the disabled and the elderly. I became a caregiver because I am a people person and hope to help make people happy. I liked helping some of the elderly get back together with their family members. I found that that is sometimes just what they needed. I am a mother of 4, all of my children are adults and I need something to do with my time. I chose care-giving because not only do the patients need companionship but so do I. I can do live in or out. I consider myself a dependable and reliable type of person, but I know seeing is believing. Thank you for considering me for the position.

I'm a great caregiver because I have compassion and a passion to assist those who can't do for themselves. My love for people, patience and understanding attitude is also a great plus. I've worked with blind adults, individuals with cerebral palsy as well as special education with young children. I recently moved to Texas from New York and would like to continue helping and building relationships with new people.

I am a caring person. In the last five years, my family member came down with Demetia and Alzheimer's, it woke me up about the health care system. In daily life it is about how can we care for each person. It is about the individual and making each day count with dignity. How can I help that person live a happy life? Listening to the family and being about to do my best to help that person.

I believe what makes me an excellent caregiver is my sensitivity and respect for the challenges of the loss of independence, whether recent or long term. I am calm and quiet by nature, but I am a pretty good conversationalist. I decided to change careers to become a caregiver after caring for my own mother and I have found it to be a rewarding and profound experience. I have recently gone back to school to get a degree in Psychology/Gerontology and I am loving every minute of it even though I am old enough to be my professor's mother! I have just moved back to Los Angeles with my husband and daughter after living in Colorado and Texas for the past 9 years.

I think that it's all about putting away your needs to assist others, knowing that a smile on your face can bring job and happiness to someone else. I do believe that reliability is a vital trait in a caregiver. I am so happy to help others.

I began working as a caregiver during my senior year of high school, I have since enjoyed every single part of being a caregiver, I have grown and learned so much that I am greatfull to have had this be my first job ever. I lost my grandparents from both sides of my family and I truly understand and appreciate how important it is to care and love our family. I cared for my mother for 15 years she had Alzheimer's. That was a learning experience for me, I am very thankful that I had the privilege to care for her. It taught me patience, empathy and to understand others. Because of that experience, after the death of my mother I decided to go back to school to become a certify Nurse Assistance and a certify Home Health Aid ( CNA/CHHA.) I also have experience with ALS patience . I have been working as license CNA and CHHA for seven years, and four with ALS patience in nursing homes , small care facilities and private homes. I performed duties such as meal preparation, medication management bathing grooming, dressing and take vital signs etc.. I truly enjoy caring for the elderly. I am very kind and compassionate person. Actually got into this business because of a simple conversation with a potential employer regarding my own family experience's with providing care to ALS patient (mother-in-law) as well as my own father with dimentia/Alzheimer's disease. Spent many years caring for both parents while raising my own family. Have since been employed as a caregiver for many years now.

I have been a caregiver all my life, starting when I ws 14 years old and rode my bike to a nursing facility to volunteer. I spent the rest of my career working with seniors and developmentally disabled adults. I got a CNA certicicate back in 1987, but have no clue if it hold any value these days. I am retired. I volunteer with hospice and my Therapy Dog at several homes, and love doing this. I'd like to gt out a bit more, and a little bit more money coudn't hurt. I am 53, single, Christian, honest, and have lost many family members. I was involved in their care, so I know what that is like. I have also been critically ill, and have myself been in hospice. I know how confusing the medical world can be. I learned so much from my work managing an 89 bed facility for 18 years and working with the doctors there…then becoming a patient myself. I enjoy laughter and am generally light hearted. I enjoy helping others and getting to know each client so that we form a personal connection. I help prepare food bank bags and distribute once a month to the homeless in the Pasadena area that I live in. I believe we should all do our part to help the less fortunate starting in our own back yard/neighborhood.

The reason I have decided to join this career is to be able to assist senior citizens with their daily routine and personal care, but mostly because I have always had a soft spot for them. I feel satisfied and fulfilled when I put a smile in their faces, and knowing that they can have a friend in me. I know I am just a stranger but I am trustworthy. I am big on honesty and respect. I would say my biggest achievement is being the mother of my beautiful 13yr old. She is very smart and mature for her age. I am proud of her and I hope she is proud of me. Thank you for having me :)

Hello my name is Mat, I am a very motivated person. Being a caregiver is what I really want to do at this point in my life. I graduated from Glendale Career College where I took a class training to become a Medical Assistant. I enjoyed becoming a Medical Assistants much now I am in Pasadena College studying to become a full on Nurse.

I choose to be a Caregiver to be, both, a blessing and to "give back" for what has been done for me, personally. I have been a Caregiver throughout my life, beginning with my sister (nine years older), with Special Needs, and confined to a wheel chair. I was also Caregiver to my mother when diagnosed with Cancer, until she passed away. I then began taking care of my sister, full time (now resides in a nursing care facility due to medical reasons). I have a sincere understanding of the concerns and responsibilities surrounding the care and safety of our loved ones. I have also volunteered for 20 years in Community Outreach Ministries, assisting individuals, families and the elderly. I am grateful to have the opportunity to help others, assisting them to continue to live as independently, as possible. It is not just a job, it is a great life.

I took care of my Uncle until he passed away from cancer. I enjoy taking care of people that need help with day to day living. I enjoy listening to their life story and their wisdom. That when I took care of my Uncle we plan his funeral together and I made sure everything was as he wished.

I am currently attending nursing school to become a licence vocational nurse. I have worked with the elderly and children for over 5 years now. I decided to become a caregiver since I would always be helping my grandparents. My passion for helping others grew from there and I really enjoy helping other's day to day lives just a bit easier.

What helps me be a great caregiver is to always be happy and positive yet also making sure I am always professional and getting things done. What attracted me to care for others it all started when I was a little boy I cared for my own siblings then became a foster parent and I always loved helping others. What I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is that It makes me happy to help others and seeing I can just make someone's day better.
