Currently I am working with Alzheimer's and Dementia residents. Everyday is something new and I never know what my day has in store. I am laid back but very attentive and I build amazing relationships with the people I care for. I've learned to live in the moment and go with the flow. I have 1+ years of experience with the training. I have always had the knack for caring for people and I feel that is my number one quality.

Hi ! My name is Dakota (: I am currently 19 &' have been a caregiver for 9months now and absolutely love it. I am very dedicated to my client and care for them how I would want my own family to be cared for. I am studying to apply for Nursing School and for me this is just the start of my career in healthcare and caring for others! I am a caring, reliable person who enjoys driving people to appointments and doing light house work and gardening. I took care of my grandmother for a year or so before she had a severe stroke and had to be put in more professional medical care. Also, I took care of both grandfathers before they passed away, mostly companionship and house cleaning, but keeping their spirits up and minds engaged was a daily task for a long time. My partner, Chriss Robinson (a professional musician), is also available for maintenance work around your home and is quite a caring individual as well. He did elder care for John Duarte, of Martinez, for many years until his death. We are also active in helping at the VA hospital in Martinez as volunteers. The gaps in our availability reflect our other commitments to Concord High School (where Chriss teaches marching band), and our children, veterans, eastern star, and musical gigs... we are actually available during these times, as needed, with notice. My children are well behaved teenagers who live in the Sacramento area, and I still love to see them on alternate weekends.

Caring and serving others has always been a passion of mine. That passion drove me to pursue a career in nursing. Currently, I am twenty years old and enrolled in a nursing program. I have just finished my first semester of my BSN program and have already gained a lot of experience with caring for others in the hospital setting. Due to my completion of the fundamentals of nursing class I am qualified to become a certified nursing assistant. My paperwork for my license is still in progress but I assure you I am qualified to complete any and all tasks just because of the professional training I have received from my nursing program. Why work as a caregiver, you ask? Because I would like to gain experience caring for others in a non-hospital setting. Being accepted into a Bachelor's of Nursing program at such a young age is a personal achievement that I am proud of because it took a lot of work, sacrifice, and perseverance to make it into the program. I completed my first two years of college at a community college. It was a difficult journey and I had to make a lot of sacrifices. I took eighteen units every single semester, took classes over summer breaks, worked a part-time job, stayed involved serving in my church, continuously volunteered at UC Davis Medical Center, and spent all my free time studying to pass all my difficult classes. I became a caregiver because i love helping people. I enjoy seeing my patients smile and making their day better. I am proud of my accomplishments. I became a CNA 6 years ago after my grandmother passed away from a fall at home. I feel i am honoring her memory by helping others and providing the care they need every day. I am a mother of a toddler and enjoy every minute of it. I want to set a good example for my daughter by being a working mom and raising my child.

I'm very bubbly and helpful. You will never regret having me there to help you. However I am still in college so I will only be able to work part time.

I enjoy working with people and being able to provide a person the option to stay in their home rather then going to a facility. I am attending nursing school at Sacramento city college.
