I BECAME A CARE GIVER AFTER MY EXPERIENCE WITH SOME NURSES BACK IN 2013. I WAS MOTIVATED BY THE WAY THEY CARED FOR MY MUM WHICH MADE ME EXTREMELY HAPPY SO I DECIDED TO DIVERT FROM WHAT I STUDIED IN THE UNIVERSITY (MICROBIOLOGY) AND BECOME A CARE GIVER WHICH I AM STILL PROCEEDING ON. WHAT KEEPS ME GOING IN THE INDUSTRY IS SEEING MY CLIENTS HAPPY AND BETTER THAN THE WAY THEY WERE WHEN THE CARE STARTED

Working as a care giver opens doors and opportunities for me to apply my skills to enhance patients well being. I am very confident in working with clients and I possess good communication skills. I am also very detailed oriented and I am patient and very hardworking. I enjoy seeing clients improve in their well being both physically, mentally and emotionally.

I have been a caregiver now for 5 years during which time I have garnered considerable experience that equips me with the skills, knowledge and ability to offer safe, efficient and timely interventions to those who rely on me for their daily activities. I like to help an elderly patients who need help with their daily living activities. I have been in a healthcare field for 14years and my career in future is to become a Registered Nurse.I love to cook and help with medical appointment and reminds of any medication taking.Am so happy to be in this field.

It is a quite sad, yet interesting reason I decided to become a Caregiver. I lost my grandmother back in February of this year (2014), about 2 weeks before my 23rd birthday. Not only did it break my heart, but I knew the month of February (and my life) would never be the same again. And ever since then, I have been feeling somewhat incomplete… Like I let her down because I didn't really spend much time with her because I was so "busy." In addition to that, I also felt like something was missing in me. It wasn't until I became a Professional Teller at a bank and was forced to push financial "solutions" (credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, etc.) onto unsuspecting elders, that I knew I had a greater calling. Because that could've easily been my grandmother in those young persons' shoes if she were still alive. So on August 21, 2014; I turned in my letter of resignation and decided to use my kind heart and services for good. And I must say that I have never felt more proud. I also believe that my grandmother is looking down on me smiling. I was her grand baby, Dionte McFadden and I always will be.

I have had experienced working with people who are recovering from Stroke, kidney failure, Diabetes, High blood, Dementia/ Alzheimer, Cerebral Palsy, special Child and children. In 2006 I worked with an elderly couple and at first they did not like me, but because of my honesty, patience, hard work and compassion not only that I work for them for years but also they became my friends.
