I am a healthcare professional with 25+ years experience working in geriatric, memory care, dementia and Alzheimer's patients. I work in hospice care, palliative medicine, end of life care. I am a patient, compassionate, good listener, kind, caring caregiver. I do skilled nursing, wound care, first aid, post surgery care for transitioning patients to homecare. My start in healthcare was volunteering at the Red Cross, church and community outreach , I have worked eight years at the Washtenaw County DHS with CLS/CMH organizations as consumer advocate . I have worked long years managing assisted living facilities, nursing homes, directing memory care units, training, teaching and mentoring. I have earned Bachelor's of Science from EMU and Surgical Technology program from WCC. I am passionate about helping people to better their lives and improve their health.

I pay attention to details, and provide peace of mind to families knowing that their loved ones are in good hands. Highly sought out, and requested by the same clients. When I worked for EHM Senior Solutions, all of my long-term clients would rather not have anyone else come in from the company when I was not available. With all of my clients that needed 24 hour care and had several caregivers, I was the only one asked to stay on assignment when they no longer needed 24 hour care. Lastly, I had a client that was put in Hospice Care and was given 3 days to live. After 1 month of starting the assignment, my client graduated from Hospice, and his family is very happy.

I am a retired LOSS PREVENTION SPECIALIST who gave up my career to help care for my mom who was sick for years . After she passed away I realized this was my calling,took a CNA course at age 50 and became a personal companion/caregiver for an elderly women. Her family had employed me for 5 years,full time until she died at age 94 in 2016. I then started working thru Visiting Angels and I also remain at Brighton Gardens as a receptionist,the facility where my longterm client had lived. I am enthusiastic Home Health Aide that enjoys helping others. The reason why I decided to become an Aide because I took care of my sick mother and the hospice company thought that I did such a good job I should think about becoming an Aide. I was born in a caregiver role as a child. I took care of my siblings when I was much younger. When I was in middle school my grandmother had an operation on her back and I took care of her until she was able to take care of herself. I was in school and I wanted to take care of the elderly. So I took a C.N.A. course and I worked at the School of Nursing. I worked with an elderly woman privately and I enjoyed watching movies with her. She loved Forrest Gump. I like the assignment that I have. I got her walking when they said she couldn't walk, I got her up from being bed bound twice. I had to help her. First we crawled, then she stood up, balance was our next step, and then a few steps here, and then full walking transfers! They said she is a walking miracle. I am proud of myself that I was able to follow doctors orders, nurse orders, P.T. and O.T. exercises.

I have attended a CNA program throughout my senior year in high school and really got into working and caring for residents. I have been working as a CNA for about 4 years, and I love what I do. As a Cna I am trustworthy, honesty, patient with residents, dependable, passionate, etc. I enjoy being the ears and eyes of my residents, being able to keep them company and having that one-on-one interaction. As a certified nurse assistant I am proud of my flexibility and determination.

I love caring for people. I always am reminded that if it was one of my loved ones I'd want someone who was great so that's what I strive to be. I really learned that even more. After taking care of a loved who was battling cancer, then caring for her throughout her hospice time. I was with her until the very end when she transitioned. I've been in the home health working for the past 10 years. I have worked at the University of Michigan hospital as a Patient Attendant for 4 years. Which lead to me becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant.
