I have worked in healthcare since 2018. I have worked as a chiropractic assistant and ophthalmic technician. I was a certified EMT in NC before moving to Montrose. I am CPR/First Aid certified and in the process of becoming a nurse aide. I am very passionate about caring for the elderly and/or children with special needs. I have previously volunteered at an MDA Summer camp for children with muscular dystrophy. During that time, I gave 1-on1 personal care and assisted with all activities. I learned that I really enjoy caregiving and am happy to offer my services here in the Montrose, CO area!

Being reliable, including arriving for work on time and fulfilling all duties in a timely manner. Respecting my patients' privacy and dignity. Exhibiting a positive demeanor and kind tone of voice. Being considerate and kind when working with my patient. I always feel the need to help others and there was no better way then doing it through caregiving. Being the youngest child out of six siblings I lived my parents the most and I always provided them care from young age I cook, clean and take them to the appointments, shopping and spending quality time with them. I am most proud on my decision to become caregiver because I know I can provide the excellent care with compassion and patience.

I have always been a caregiver. I raised 2 children, have 4 grandchildren and spent 2 years caring for my mother until her passing from ovarian cancer. My profession was dental hygiene and I was in private practice for 35+ years. I trained and was licensed as an EMT in NC. I have current CPR and first aid training. I am reliable, competent, caring and have a good sense of humor. I also am a very good cook. Your loved one would be in very good hands with me and you would have peace of mind.

I am very compassionate about providing great care for your loved ones! I am patient and kind. I wanted to be a care giver because I enjoy having one on one interactions. I enjoy being able to impact someone's day even just a little.

I am a very caring and compassionate person. I am very drawn to those in need of help seniors or otherwise. I took care of my grandparents until death. One had pulmonary fibrosis the other bone cancer.. I cared for my mother and father-in-law. One died of heart and stroke complications and the other brain cancer. I have cared for neighbors after surgery or difficult child births. My grandmother always told me I had a gift for making people feel better and it was my duty to share it with those who might need me. I enjoy helping a person feel better no matter how bad the day and helping the family with the difficulties and challenges of caring for a loved one in addition to working and caring for their own families.

I became a caregiver because of my Step-Mother. From a very early age, I was tasked with taking care of her as she became bedridden from many diseases. She is afflicted with chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, herniated/ruptured disks, obesity (450lbs. or more), and a litany of other non-communicable diseases. As time went on I found myself enjoying taking care of her and it gave my life a sense of belonging and direction. As a CNA now, I find that serving others still gives me that same sense of direction I experienced in my youth, but I feel strongly now that I'm older that if everyone were like me, and spent their lives in service of others, there would be no person on Earth who felt lonely, neglected, or not cared for. I do have quite a bit of college education even though I hold no degree, but if I were to speak of an achievement that meant the most to me, it would be my Eagle Scout award. Becoming an Eagle Scout took many long hours as a child, and most of that time was spent volunteering and serving the community. The most important thing scouting taught me was that a person did not need a reason or a reward for helping others, but that the act of self-sacrifice held its own rewards. I love to meet new people, and I enjoy making others smile.

I am a natural born care giver. I have been taking care of and giving to people from all walks of life for 38 years. I love and enjoy helping people and have a passion for it. I like that fact that I can help someone who really is at a time of their life when they need help. I am most proud of the feeling people get and the changes or impact I make an a person's life whether it's big or small. You can see a change when this happens. I have helped people all my life and that's all I very caring, giving and compassionate about what I do. I help anyone just like they were a part of my family. I have 3 children and a great big family.

I became a caregiver for a couple of reasons. The first reason was that I felt I could only get a job with my CNA license because I wasn't having any luck with finding a job in other areas such as retail. My second reason is that I watched my grandmother suffer from Alzheimer's disease and I used to take note of the home health aide and how she was able to help my grandmother since we couldn't. I get the best satisfaction from simply knowing I am helping someone who cannot help themselves. I am so grateful that I am able to use my abilities to make someone feel good or letting someone know that I am there to serve them and help them. A personal achievement that I am proud of is graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I say that because I had the odds stacked against me such as not having a job, not having a car and not knowing where my next meal was going to come from. I am currently in the pre-dental post bac program at the same school and will be graduating again next May with my BA in Biology. Next year I will be attending dental school and that will be my life for the next 4 years. In the meantime, I'll be working and saving to support myself through dental school. Doing something that I enjoy such as being a caregiver, is not even a "job" to me. That's why I truly love being able to help others and that its something as easy as breathing.

I currently work in Baptist hospital and I have my CNA II. I absolutely love my job. I am in nursing school now at UNCG and I am a senior. I love watching sports! Football is my favorite though I watch others as well. I have a cat and a dog, I love my animals!

This experience has reinforced my commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need, and I have found genuine fulfillment in this role. In addition to my caregiver role, I am proud to share that I work for Guilford County School, where I create and implement interventions to support the development and well-being of students. My dual degree in Elementary and Special Education equips me with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse needs of students, and I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Special Education and Instructional Design to further expand my knowledge and skills. My passion for people, caregiving, and education fuels my desire to make a positive impact. I am open to learning, adapting, and continuously expanding my capabilities to provide the highest level of care and support to those in my charge. Hello! This is Heidi. Nice to meet you! I am a warm, bubbly, encouraging person. I have a sunny disposition and a can do attitude. I'm also a relationship builder. These characteristics give me the fuel I need to get through tough situations. I became attracted to caregiving in a personal way. I had a family member who needed caregiving services. I took care of her when I was in college and learned a lot about compassion and empathy and how important a caregiver role is. Due to her caregivers, she was able to have a better quality of life. I'm happy that I got to be a part of that caregiving experience. What do I enjoy most about being a caregiver? Connection. I truly love the connections built with the family, and, most importantly, the person receiving the care. A personal achievement that I'm proud of is being able to overcome adversity gracefully. That may sound vague, but showing grace in difficult situations is definitely an achievement in its own right. I'd also say I'm proud of having what it takes to work hard to achieve the goals I set so I can set new ones and keep growing.
