I cared for my grandmother for a long time until she passed. She was my world. I really wish I could have been there more for any reason and hate that at times she was alone. I want to be that person for someone else because it is hard for someone to be there 24/7 and no one should be lonely.

I am 64 years old and have my own home in Florence, Kentucky. I have a huge heart, a good listener, multi-task, considerate, loving and understanding. I have a great passion for others. I am looking for very part-time work since I am retired. I am not able to lift over 25 pounds. I am a good cook and great housekeeper.

I love working with the elderly. I am in college and I want to open my own home health care when I graduate. I have been in a nursing home most of my working years. I am looking to get more experienced with the elderly to be able to have when I am trying to open my own. I love talking to them and making peoples better. I am so good with the elderly and have a goal of trying to make their life's better and get out more and show them you can still have fun!

Hardworking and caring caregiver. Caregiving is my passion and not a job.

I have provided care to my mother who has mobility issues and slight dementia. I provided nutritional guidance, social counseling (when the dementia takes away normal social filters), engaged her in activities, insured her safely utilizing a walker and wheel chair as needed by circumstance, etc. I also worked as a job coach in a high school setting where I was out on the job site with special needs students to provide instruction on how to do job tasks, understand social requirements, provide for their safety and well being, etc. As far as being a Caregiver, I enjoy the interaction and being able to help others. I also enjoy the enrichment this provides in terms of being able to hear stories of their youth and being able to see life through a different perspective. It taught me to be more appreciative and"not sweat the small stuff". As a job coach, I was able to handle difficult students in public without a scene. I was also able to insure the students did not do anything that might endanger them while at the same time having a good time doing work. I also learned to break down what might be a simple task into steps. I was born in Ohio but moved to New Jersey after college where I married and raised three children. I was a stay at home mom and returned to work at the school where I was a job coach and then in the three year old room at the high school. I moved to Florida last August. My main hobbies are gardening, genealogy and pets. I was certified as a Master

I took care of my grandfather from his onset of Alzheimer's until his passing. A few years later when my mother had cancer I took care of her until she succumbed to her illness.

I am a mom of two amazing children. My family and I live in Decatur where I am a regular volunteer in their schools and in local homeless shelters. I lived with my grandmother for several years to allow her to stay in her home. I've also had several close relatives live through strokes and Parkinson's. My true joy in life is being a caregiver. Now that my children are old enough to not need me as much, I hope to continue to give care to others. I also miss the time I had with my grandmother and great aunts now that they have passed. I hope to find new connections and relationships with you and your family.

I relocated to Florida after retiring as an RN for 30 years. I have volunterred with various programs, including food pantry after hurraine Michael. I am seeking employment as a home care giver because I miss working with people. I am comfortable and enjoy helping to keep one in their own surroundings ,which also can help mentally . Safety , nutrition and physical exercise -if able are most important. Keeping family informed are also important. I have been a nursing assistant for 7 years. I've worked in long-term care facilities, hospitals and in patients homes. I love working with the elderly, and love to hear about their stories growing up. I have experience with cancer patients(4 years) as I was a PCA at Good Samaritan Hospital.

To CareLinx. My resume will reflect my employment history since moving to Charleston in 1989. I believe I would qualify for a caregiver because I have spent the last 5 Years periodically taking care of my aged parents in their home when a critical illness occurred. And my sister is a severe diabetic, losing a foot and on dialysis, who needs periodic care. My girls are grown and I have had employment that allows me to leave for extended time. Now my parents have long term care in their home and my sister has her children along with a part-time nurse. However, while my sister and my parents remain on my mind, I need to earn a living. My best personal achievement was being a single parent to my daughters from ages 10 and 13. They are happy and hardworking young women who have overcome a challenge of being without their father. It is of great importance that I spend my retirement doing a job that is worthwhile and fulfilling. My hobbies are reading, playing cards and board games.
