I became a caregiver because i have passion in taking goodcare of elderly im a nurse in the philippines,Cna for 2 years here in US and a graduating Vocational nurse before i become a cna i worked 2 years as a caregiver.

Hello, my name is Krista and i have been in the field of nursing for 16 years. I started as a CNA when i was 20, went to school and became a Certified Medical Assistant at 25, and passed the California State Board of Nursing NCLEX exam in December, 2013. I have worked across the board in all specialities including long term geriatrics, Alzheimer's care, specialized pediatrics, wound care, ventilator and tracheostomy, orthopedics, cardiology, neurology, emergency medicine, etc. Nursing is in my blood, it's not just a job for me. I have extensive experience and impeccable references. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after receiving my LVN license I was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 36. I went through treatment and am proud to say I am currently cancer free. Due to this set back and the extensive healing time involved, I need to have a low stress job that allows for some flexibility. 1. Because I love helped my mother take care of my father before he past and I seen how much it means to have someone who truly cares by your side in your most difficult time of need. 2. I enjoy being a caregiver. I've been a CNA for three years and I love it. Every since I was a child I enjoyed helping people. My heart always has been big. In order to be a caregiver I believe you must have patience and a heart along with enjoying and being proud of what you do. Before I became a CNA I worked in customer service for eight years and enjoyed that job as well, then my mom took ill. Then I decided to go back to school to learn how to care for her properly, if need be. Under my care my mom got better gradually. After that I decided to make caregiving a career. Knowing that I played a part in helping someone accomplish a task or just making them smile for that day is priceless.

Being a caregiver is something I've always done, my mother used to move my father's family members in that were dying and I was very young but I would help her take care of them and also my Grandmother that passed last year I done homehealth care for her before I was old enough I worked under my mom for years. I love caring for those who cannot do for themselves I have a compassion for disabled individuals. I am proud of becoming certified after all the years of taking care of family members I am proud of the years of college and finally getting into the LVN nursing program. I am very hard working dedicated and just trying to get my life right get an education while I'm young before it's too late.
