I am a great caregiver, because I always do my best with alot of passion. My goal is to comport, encourage and make my client feel much better than I found them. Also i remind my clients to count their blessings more than what their facing on a daily basis. I always wanted to be caregiver because i knew i am capable and talented in bringjng a difference in people's daily life. I enjoy alot of things while I am delivering direct care to my clients . But one thing that stands out, when my client is doing much better that I found them because my care it brings alot of joy and encouragement that my goal as a caregiver is meet. Being a caregiver i am proud of myself when my clients gets to know that I care about their well being and tbeir progress in their daily life. Also when my clients achieve their goals under my care is a great achievement to me.

I've always wanted to be in the health field. Originally I wanted to be a nurse so I practiced by taking care of my grandmother, my uncle & sick kids in the family. I love to help others! I wanted to become a caregiver because there are so many families who need the support. I recently just lost my great grandmother who had a caregiver and I was able to learn and become appreciative of what caregivers do. My name is Aretha Owens and I am 54 years of age. I have been a caregiver for 17 years. I have worked with an elderly men and women I have also taking care of two paraplegic man and I have also taken care of a few alzheimer's patients.

I am a compassionate person that loves to engage with the elderly and provide them with the best care. All people need attention and companionship and sometimes the elderly are forgotten. In high school, I would volunteer for the local senior home center and engage with them and participate in the activities. Sometimes I would just sit down and listen to all the stories. I love helping people and I believe that all people matter and need the basic necessities of life. I am a proud mother of two kids and have four dogs. I have a big soft spot for animals and all our dogs are rescued homeless pets. I am currently enrolled in college for a major in biology to work towards a career in infectious disease. My absolute favorite thing to do is to garden. I love gardening naturally and specialize in vegetables growing. What I like about being a Caregiver is the diversity of my clients, everyone has a different story and background. I love to listen about their lives, accomplishments, family and loved ones. It's like watching a Classic tale of another time and these stories become part of my life, parts not to be forgotten. I love to put not only my heart into my work, but my sensitivity, compassion, laughter,attentiveness and honest character as well. I have worked with some challenging cases like Alzheimer's, Cancer patient's, Stroke patient's and other types of illnesses. I am thankful for the opportunity to have worked with and known my patient's, not just as patient's, but we became friends as well, and I was there when they needed me. I have been a CNA/Home Health Aid for several years, currently my license is inactive, but I still retain all the skills necessary to perform an outstanding job for you.
