I became a caregiver to help those in need of assistance at home or in a facility. I love people and helping them to recover from injuries or illness. It isn't always possible for family members to care for another family member or other loved ones. I'm very passionate about the work I do in caring for my patients and also for their families. I've worked in hospice care, long term care, nursing facilities, hospitals and private care and have over 25 years experience, from Alzheimer's units to med- serg floors. I love it all and I'm continuing on to higher degrees.

I have experience working with children and elderly adults, as I volunteered with nursing homes and I was the primary caregiver of my grandmother who suffered from demintia and cardiovascular issues. What makes me a great caregiver is my compassion to help those who can't help themselves or need a little extra push. My personality is very peaceful and joyous..I chose to be a caregiver because it can be rewarding. Knowing that I am putting a family at ease for caring for their loves ones is a beautiful thing to me.. what attracted me to want to be a caregiver is when I cared for my grandmother before her passing years ago. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is talking with elder people because of their knowledge. what makes me a great care giver is my ability to love and accept everyone for who they are as well as the passion that I have always had since a child of taking care of people. Growing up I had a little brother that could not walk, talk, sit up or feed himself. He had no control over his functions at all. I was the oldest child and spent all my free time feeding him, changing him, bathing him, administering his meds on a daily basis. Using a track in our home I was able to maneuver him around the home to take care of him, I did this for 18 years. I spent all my time with him, loving a caring for him. He passed a few years ago due to his illness and I vowed to continue to find ways to take care of, serve and help people, its has been my way of keeping his memory alive. I believe my experience with him is why I am so passionate today and why I feel that being a caregiver is something that I am called to do. I love knowing that I am able to touch someone's life and make a difference. I know I would be a great fit as well as a great asset for your family no matter who you are or how challenging the situation, I am prepared to face it with you with a loving, compassionate and patient heart.

I thought I wanted to do something different but once I was called and led to this field I then knew what I was made to do. I like helping people who can't help themselves to become as independent as possible. Besides promotions or awards, the ultimate achievement is having someone be thankful and appreciative for all that you've done to help them to wellness. I became a caregiver after my grandmother got sick. She loved me and only wanted me to take care of her. We are best friends and I enjoyed taking care of her. Due to her health condition they decided she needed a full time caregiver of 60hrs per week so I had to step down due to the fact I am a student at Lee College. I enjoyed the feeling of being able to help and assist the elderly and because of my grandmother I want to continue to help and provide to those in need! My favorite thing about bein a caregiver is making the patient feel happy.

My name is Marcella Karam. I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for the last 20 years. I am extremely passionate about my patients and take care of them with love and respect. After taking care of my Mom that was bedridden for seven years I asked God to use my hands for His glory and that is exactly what I did. I became a CNA and fulfilled my purpose in life. I have a heart for the elderly and for people in geraral. I thank God everyday for allowing me to make a difference in so many lives he has entrusted to me.

I am a very nurturing and compassionate person. I am patient, and I make a great companion. My grandmother made a career out of being a caregiver. I used to go to her clients' houses with her. I would help her care for them, and it made me feel good to be able to help these clients accomplish their daily tasks, while making them still feel independent. I enjoy the companionship that I grow with the clients. They are full of wisdom, and I love listening to their stories.

What makes me a great caregiver is the love that I have for elderly people. My dad got sick and my mother was unable to care for him so I stepped in. I love learning things from my elders. I'm the most proud is that I can have the opportunity to work with the family that needs my help.
