I have been working as a Nurse Aide for about four months. I completed my training, and am waiting on the results of my state test for my CNA license. When you become a CNA, it gives you the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people, which is something I've always wanted to do. The job can be very demanding, but it is also very rewarding. The relationships you build with your patients are like no other, and it is a good feeling when you can help your patients feel better. I first thought about becoming a CNA when my grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal illness similar to Parkinson's. Hospice came into our home to care for him when it became too much for us to handle on our own. They were very helpful, and provided him with not only care, but also companionship. Seeing the difference that they made not only for my grandfather, but also for me and the rest of my family, that is what made me want to get into healthcare. I believe that is what makes me a great caregiver. I think about each of my patients as if they are my own family. And if they were, I would want only the best care for them. That is why I always strive to do the absolute best I can to care for my patients.

Through Baptist and Methodist hospitals I am trained to properly care for clients that have dementia, alzheimers, schizophrenia, multiple disabilitating bone disorders and post-op care. I have been experiencing/observing working with a variety of elders with dementia, COPD, hip surgeries, Arthritis, stroke, etc. I am a genuine person who wants to see people heal and I will do all I can to help.

I enjoy helping people to make their lives easier. In the work I've done, it has been satisfying to see them pleased with my service. I've gotten to know a variety of home care clients and experienced doing a variety of tasks. I'm careful to give attention to whatever they most need and want and they have reported being happy with my work, whether it's personal care, cleaning, shopping, or just visiting with them.

I don't have much professional work experience in care giving, but I have been around many people who struggle with alzheimer, parkinson, bad eye sight, strict diets, diabetes, arthritis, and many more obstacles, and I have taken care of them along with other family members. I love being able to help make life more comfortable and enjoyable for anyone. I know family is very important, and I will do everything in my power to help your loved ones feel better and/or more comfortable. In my family, helping our elders has always been the norm. From taking care of my diabetic grandpa and helping my grandma who was disabled, I realize that one day, I myself may need assistance, and I would want someone who I can trust, someone who will take genuine care of me, and that is who I am as a caregiver.
