My name is Paula and I have many years of caregiving experience and behavior health. My whole life I have raised my sister and brother and that's all I know is to help others in need. It's a self gratification experience. Plus I love to hear stories about other peoples lives and how I can help make it better if need be. I have been working as a Nurse Aide for about four months. I completed my training, and am waiting on the results of my state test for my CNA license. When you become a CNA, it gives you the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of people, which is something I've always wanted to do. The job can be very demanding, but it is also very rewarding. The relationships you build with your patients are like no other, and it is a good feeling when you can help your patients feel better. I first thought about becoming a CNA when my grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal illness similar to Parkinson's. Hospice came into our home to care for him when it became too much for us to handle on our own. They were very helpful, and provided him with not only care, but also companionship. Seeing the difference that they made not only for my grandfather, but also for me and the rest of my family, that is what made me want to get into healthcare. I believe that is what makes me a great caregiver. I think about each of my patients as if they are my own family. And if they were, I would want only the best care for them. That is why I always strive to do the absolute best I can to care for my patients.

Hello, my name is Cheyenne and I have been a caregiver for going on 8 years. I have experience with in-home care, facility-care and hospital based care. Through Baptist and Methodist hospitals I am trained to properly care for clients that have dementia, alzheimers, schizophrenia, multiple disabilitating bone disorders and post-op care. To properly and safely care for your loved ones in their time of need, I am also CPR certified through the American Heart Association as well Stroke certified in the evnt of an emergency I can act fast. Through hospital experience I can verify when an abnormality is occuring with the client so I am able to act fast, as well as having training for changing, bathing, toileting assistance. My last job was working with AARP at TX Workforce in the Rehabilitation Program and Food Stamp Program. I am a student at Del Mar college currently studying to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant. I have been experiencing/observing working with a variety of elders with dementia, COPD, hip surgeries, Arthritis, stroke, etc. I am a genuine person who wants to see people heal and I will do all I can to help.

I enjoy helping people to make their lives easier. In the work I've done, it has been satisfying to see them pleased with my service. I've gotten to know a variety of home care clients and experienced doing a variety of tasks.
