Hi! My name is Theresa. I'm an elementary school teacher who is working to transition into nursing in the near future for a career change. I'm finishing my PreReqs for a local ADN program and have been accepted into a RN-BSN program (conditional that I achieve my ADN). I have my CNA certification. I love helping people and I try my best to be a hard worker!

I am very calm and patient and try to include my client in decision regarding them. I am attracted to being a caregiver because I like to help others I enjoy helping others find alternate ways they can still help themselves as long as possible so they don't lose the important feeling of independence. I am proud of my many achievements, earning my associates degree in science, as well as my dementia practioner license, and now furthering my education to become a respiratory therapist.

Wife of 13 years and Mother of 5 children. I live in carrolloton Tx and have recently gone back to school. I started doing care giving in 2010 after my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. I provided personal Care for my grandmother until she passed away in 2012. Since then I have been working as a caregiver in nursing homes and for private families. I just recently gave birth to my daughter Hannah and in search for an afternoon shift. Caring and gentle caregiver with lots of experience (over 10 years) and abundant love and patience. Willing to go the whole nine yards. I have love and compassion for helping the seniors, elderly along with specializing in Dementia, Alzheimer, Parkinson and any family/client that is in need of service. My passion as a caregiver is natural coming from a culture that treasures nurturing the sick and the elderly. Giving them special care and respect while maintaining their dignity.

Additionally I cared for my Grandmother for over 5 years after she had a knee replacement surgery. She never was able to fully recover and soon became completely immobile needing help with everyday tasks, she couldn't hardly leave her house. This eventually turned into her not being able to use the bathroom on her own and then soon to adult diapers. I made all of her meals and and did all of her shopping, housekeeping, Dr. visits, made apointments, all medical needs and administered her medicines. Toward the end of her life she went completely deaf, and I had to learn to communicate with her in other ways to make sure she had everything she needed. I loved her so much and miss her every day. After my experience I realized that I would like the opportunity to be able to care for another person that needs such services.

I became a care taker because I love helping people and there is nothing greater than to see the smile from someone you helped.I love knowing that I did something good for someone whom need it. I think that the elderly or the ones whom cant help themselves are the one of lifes greatest treasures and deserve the best that someone can give. I have finally gotten my GED and am now going to college. I put it off for so many years and now have taken the steps to do what I have dreamed of.I am 42 years old have two children who are grown.I am a very loving person and there is no greater enjoyment than to go to bed at night knowing I did something good for someone.

What makes me a great caregiver is empathy & compassion, because byy showing both empathy and compassion it will let the person im caring for know that I care about them and want to do what i can to help them. What made me want to be a caregiver is my niece who recently passed away with cancer by being in the hospital 24/7 with her seeing not just kids but elderly patients as well made me want to make a difference and be there to help them in any way I possibly can rather it was recoverinh from cancer or just needing help period. What I I enjoy most about being a caregiver is looking at the progress of the person progressing each and every day and just knowing that I was able to be apart of that. A personal achievement in proud of would have to be getting back into school and just going toward my goal with being a social worker and being able to help children as well as still being able to help the elderly.

Hi there! I'm Lauren and I don't take pride in being able to help others. I tend to make sure others are taken care of before myself. I enjoy exercising and am studying to become a personal trainer.

Why? Because I care, and am blessed to be able to. Here's how it happened: I became a caregiver first when Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. Moved in with him for 3 months until he died. Also my Grandmother and Mom runs a independent business taking care of people who cant. Just growing up seeing how caring and passionate they were, And that is what leads me to want and continue senior care. Most people think just because i am young that i am selfish like everybody else. I Worked helping my mom and grandmother a;; through high school. I started working Independently a year and a half ago. what i LOVE the most about being a caregiver is the Amazing Freaky Crazy Stories that is shared with me. Most of the time elderly people honestly just want someone to talk to. But most of all the knowledge that is given that no professor or Big book and give you. The personal achievement that i am proud of is learning to NOT be selfish and see that there is bigger and better things that you can do that helps you grow as a person and also helping someone else.
