I started caregiving as a volunteer 7 years ago and loved the position so much i decided to open my own business helping people who need that little extra help. I offer activities, companionship, safety, education, love and respect. I am also the team leader of our senior ministry at church in montgomery. We do monthly activities and provide love and support where needed or desired. I believe we all have gifts and one of mine is loving our senior community. I am a community speaker/educator for the Alzheimer Association and i am Alzheimer certified. I am also first aid trained and cpr trained and certified.

I enjoy helping people, and I am a welcoming, energetic, and kind person. I grew up next door to my grandparents, helping with their garden, cooking, providing transportation to appointments, and hanging out. In college, I had multiple caregiving positions from helping with memory care to severe injuries, and I appreciated the challenge and joy that came with each position.

I am loving and caring. And what makes me a great caregiver is that I love caring for older people i have a grand mother that i care for who has diabetics and vision problems. I enjoy caregiving because i get the joy of helping an elderly and the happiness and smile they give after they know they are in great hands. My biggest achievement is being able to finish my degree.

I am truly a caring and compassionate person. I always put myself in other people's shoes and treat them the way I want to be treated. I was raised in a Christian home so honesty and integrity go a long way with me. I am very patient, friendly and easy to get along with. I would like to help people one on one so that they get the most put of my services. I would rather you/your loved one be taken care of by me than abused and neglected in some nursing home.

For most of my life I had an unhealthy father. Much of it was in and out of hospitals, doctor visits, breathing treatments, medications and so forth. And for most of my life, I had been considered an "artist"; in this way, the creating itself had been its own kind of therapy for me. "Art Therapy" it was. And although much of my life was in art, it was also in awareness of what my dad went through medically. The laziness, the lack of care, all the things I had wished to change but helpless to do about. It wasn't until my father died however that I made a complete change of my path. When my father passed, something occured within me that pushed this need I had felt to care for and help others. While I stood by helplessly watching my father experience such low grade care before dying, I wanted to be the care I'd wished to have seen when he was still around. And this "push" to do so was immediate and it was strong. So, I did what I had to to make it happen any way that I could. It was more like this "calling" I had had, and became an immediate priority of my life. I'd never experienced anything like it before. I moved all the way to Lubbock where my friend had said I could stay while I got all my CNA work and hours done. I moved, got certified as a CNA and had been hired on where I did clinicals at. My first job into the healthcare field was at a Retirement home where Alzheimer's and dementia was common. Although the job of a cna can be hard and consuming, it was the best job I ever had before. Caring for and helping others in need overall gives you this sense of "wholeness" you never had before. And deciding to be the change you wished to see makes you feel good inside as well, bc it has to start somewhere. And everyone deserves a good level of care when they've got other health concerns going on.

I am patient and enjoy listening and sharing with individuals. I like for living spaces to be neat and tidy and will work to keep the environment organized. I want to be a caregiver to help my mom. I like being able to offer assistance to people that need my help. I am proud of being able to plan and host family gatherings throughout the year.

Being a caregiver is not an easy task, no matter the needs or level of dependence of the individual receiving care. While taking care of one's own personal needs is more or less automatic most of the time, switching gears and caring for someone else is not. Putting someone else's needs before yours isn't always easy or fun, but coupled with the knowledge that you made someone's life easier and better, can be incredibly rewarding. List of skills: Problem solving Patience Communication skills Positivity Empathy Being a caregiver isn't easy, but at the end of the day, it can be hugely rewarding knowing that you've helped make someone's life easier and better.

One cool thing about being caregiver is that you get too serve different age people and get to work work with them. I love working working with people and taking care of them

I'm a Hispanic man, well mannered and respectful of your privacy and property. I have some computer and office skills that could be helpful. I have a customer service background. I took care of my father who was diagnosed with Dementia and several other health issues. Used to keep track of appointments, make travel arrangements, get the mail, pay bills, filing, run personal errands - cleaners, stock the fridge, walk the dog, etc. Transportation to and from appointments, and personally assist him with ADL 's.

My personal experiences with my parents has led me to becoming a caretaker for others that are in need of help around the house. I enjoy being around people and getting to know them. I have always been in service type positions that have allowed me the freedom to experience a multitude of personalities. I enjoy helping others...love to cook for others and love to help out when I can. My parents and I are very close, I am an only child, and I believe in taking care of family and friends. I have had to help both my parents get over several surgeries and I am always helping them with small tasks that they can no longer do themselves. I am looking forward to helping some other people and hopefully along the way add to my family of friends.
