I am a 47 year old black female who has been certified since 1989 and I have loved the joy and opportunity of caring for elderly people .I enjoy the working with people in general .I am very compassionate when it comes to others and their feelings.

I am a great caregiver because I do not see caregiving as a job. I see it as a privilege given to me from the family. I see caregiving as an opportunity to help a family take care of their most precious asset. I find happiness in helping others. I have been a caregiver my entire life. It is what I love to do. I have worked with the elderly in the past, professionally in a nursing home and assisted living as well as doing senior care in a private home .I assisted and provided care for a legally blind, 90-year-old American hero from Monday-Friday during the days. I have worked extensively in childcare and special needs care as well for years. I quickly realized how much I loved caring for the elderly. I have experience with dietary needs (diabetic, special diet, etc.), medication, bathing and clothing, dementia (and other memory conditions), exercise and physical therapy as well as housekeeping, appointment scheduling and visits. I am not one to just merely check off a list of things to do each day, but really engage the person in my care and try to go above and beyond. I want to be the next best thing to a family member, like a family member, a bonding relationship. This is my passion.

Hi, I am a Christian woman, Mother of 7 kids, grandmother, of 4 and a loving Wife. I love being a caregiver so I can help other in ways some can't. Being a caregiver is a joy for me. I became a nurse because of the love I have to give. Makeing other day and week. Bringing professionalism, happiness, joy and comfort back to my clients and their families. By knowing that there love ones is in gods loving hands. I am most proud of butting 6 kids to college with honors and the help of the good lord.

What made me fall in love with caregiving was meeting a 12 year old girl with cerebral palsy out in her front yard one day her parents told me that every day when they would come home she was sad Moody and depressed. You didn't think that the caregivers they were hiring through the agencies were spending any time with her. they even hired me on as her full-time caregiver working 6 days a week sometimes nine hour days. We became very close and her eyes would light up we did physical training to the point where she was holding herself up I devoted every hour I was there with her into her care and support. The same with my other family who was an elderly woman with dementia I was with her all the time I knew everything about her. I put my heart and soul into every job I've ever had. And I take the care of my patients and clients very seriously. I work closely with the families on goals for the patient and activities further their progress and make them feel cared for and loved.

I know my age may worry some to trust me in caring for others but I am a very responsible 18 yr old woman that loves to help others. I love to participate in sports, arts, and much more ! I babysit from infants to elder and I have experience caring for autistic elder. I will not only treat everyone around me with love and care but I will do my absolute best for others to not feel uncomfortable because my main focus is for others to feel safe and well taken care of !

I think what makes me a great caregiver is that I'm very professional and kind in what I do for people and have a good heart, that's one of my traits along with caring for my elders. I love taking care of clients and learning their personalities while getting to know them at the same time, making sure their okay and making things better for them. One of my personal achievement's is being a single mom and have raised my kid's with love and care and to be the best caregiver to my clients and extend that love and care.

Since becoming a CNA, I have truly found senior care work challenging but yet very rewarding. Not alot of people can do this work but with the right attitude and heart it can be fun. What attracted me to being a caregiver, was just being able to be a helping hand in a field that not many people find appealing. I knew becoming a CNA would be hard but I've learned so many tools along the way that I will take along with me into my career. My most personal achievement as a CNA honestly is taking care of seniors while working during a pandemic. This event that was definitely unforseen put everyone at risk and being able to come in and work and put a smile on someone's face or just being in close contact, I've become family to some of these people and I'll never forget the impact they've made on me as a caregiver.

I am a burst of sunshine. Always in a great and positive mood. Being in the position of caring for someone and making sure they are in a great mood while I'm my care is amazing. I like to look at my client as family. Treating them like you would want someone to treat your family member. Respecting them and making them feel comfortable. Though I have no medical training, I cared for my mother for 8 years until she passed away September, 2014 of pancreatic cancer. She had various medical issues including a stroke in 2007 and diabetes. I was her sole caregiver even when she was transitioned to hospice care. While caring for her, I was employed by LifeSpan, a reputable company in Dallas. I now work for My Catered Living, another reputable company that provides assistance and companionship to north Texas elderly. I'm about to graduate college with a degree in social work, majoring in Gerentology. This fall will be my final semester. I want to be in the private sector. I have excellent references and work ethic. I am 58 years old. I am single with no children. I have reliable transportation and can travel up to 25 miles from my home. I have an experience of 22 years. I am a good caregiver because I treat my patients like if they were my parents. I cared for my mother for 7 years, she ha Alzheimer's disease, bladder cancer and diabetes. After she was gone I decided to become a CNA to care for other people and give them all my help. I have lots of patience, a realistic outlook, soothing nature and reliability, I am emphatic and have compassion.
