I am a good listener and I show empathy to my resident situation. I like making my residents happy and comfortable, doing little things to make their day better. I love that my residents are always so excited to see me and so relaxed after cleaning them, gives me joy. Provided exceptional care to elderly patients, provided them with a happy and comfortable life.

I'm a 22 yr old mother who's been volunteering with the elderly and with young children *anyone who may need daily assistance* since I was 14. Now I love it as a career

I've always been the caregiver in my family. I think its a trait I learned from my amazing mother. I was one of 5 children and caring for others started at a very young age. I was always the little mama of the group and that loving and compassionate side has stuck with me from a young age. I'm very patient, a good listener and I don't allow words to upset me too much. I realize most times that if someone isn't very kind, they either don't feeling well or they're having a moment and that's okay. We all have those kind of days from time to time. I saw the ups and downs of home care as I helped my mother take care of her parents in their final years. It wasn't always easy but I never allowed that to keep me from smiling and giving them the care they deserved. Now that I am married with a family of my own, I see the importance of sharing that same love and care with my in-laws. We moved to Bluffton two years ago from VA to help with my father-in-law. He was diagnosed with dementia and requires daily care. I believe my ability to smile through difficult situations and my patient personality make me a very good fit for those needing daily care. I'm also happy to share a good conversation, cook a healthy meal and take a nice morning or afternoon walk if necessary. What ever is needed to make someones day a little easier and brighter. What makes me a great caregiver is that genuinely care for people. I became a care giver when my grandmother became ill and needed to care for her this is when I found my true calling 10 ago. Caring for other ultimately gives me fulfillment

Hello! I am a mother of 2. I currently go to school to learn sign language and to become an RN. As a child I always wanted to be a caregiver because it always made me feel good as a person helping people. Around the age of 6 my mother was on drugs and no one was around to care for her but me. I had a younger sister so during the time when my mother got sick, I took care of all the housework, cooking, and caring for my sister and I. I always think about what if I wasn't there where would we or my mother be today. I live to help others and being able to make them smile is a gift that keeps on giving. I feel this is my destiny.
