I'd describe my personality as kind, hospitable, and encouraging. I like caring for seniors because the aged have seen the most of life and have much wisdom to offer and honor to receive. I'm looking for a job that fulfills the mothering and caring nature I've been blessed with. I have four beautiful children and a veteran husband that fill my life with so much joy. I started caring for seniors when I was a young child volunteering in senior care facilities, assisting the elderly at the church, singing and doing anything I could depending on age. Although I have not directly worked in the medical or healthcare fields, I am very familiar with some things. My mom is a Stroke survivor and has vascular issues in her legs and feet. I also used to help out her friend who was disabled from a Stroke and had no one to help her. I am passionate, caring, patient, kind and honest. I used wonder what it would be like to get to be a caregiver. My mom has had a few helpers who weren't so great and it would drive me crazy that I could not get paid for all the assistance I was providing. So my experience is definitely personal experiences I am not taught by books on giving care, I was self taught. My proudest achievement would have to be finally leaving the nest and creating a new life for myself and my daughter and of course achieving my degree. There was one point in time where I did not believe I would ever get to complete a college degree. Overall, it would be great to give care to people who are stuck in a hard place with no family who can come in and be their savior. Everyone needs someone and may need some help and we should be giving more help to people who truly cannot do much for their self anymore, life is tough enough as it is.

Hello, My name is Montoya Crawford. After helping my mother nuture and care for my now 20 year old, down syndrome sister, I've come to realize caregiver (nursing) is where I really want to be. I Love helping people and making them better. Helping people is something that has become second nature. One thing that I love is putting a smile on my mother's, face. Helping her, when she needed the help and spending the time with my baby sister. It's crazy to say, but I've spent time in school, probably trying to accomplish getting into a career, other than the caregiving (nursing). Im patient, calm and a great listener. I believe that quality of life is a big part of person care. Just because we grow older dosent mean we shouldnt have a little fun sometimes. I mean who dosent love a game of bingo?(Even if that game must be played at home). I enjoy spending time with the people I work for. If theres something I am not experienced with I learn very quickly. Chances are that I've been there and done that since ive been in home care for over 10 years.
