I have always told others that I not medically inclined until almost three years ago my now 5 year old grand son almost drowned in our pool. Man had given upon him surviving. His parents were told that they would be provided with medically assisted suicide. To this day I have been thankful they did not go that route. I learned how to perform trachea change, g-tube feeding and administer medications via his G-tube, comfort him, I have talked many through and even out of major depression. I cared for my parents and grandmother who was a diabetic and those who had high blood pressure just to mention a few. I realized during these transitions that being a caregiver is such a critical player in a time of need because many family members are unable to stop their day to day lives and provide that much needed attention for their live ones. I am Nikita Crew from Covington, GA. I am 21 years old. I have worked in Customer Service for 3 years. I am a Home Health Aide for CareLinx, and I provide health care services in patients residences, perform domestic and household tasks, transport and accompany patients to doctors office or to hospital, administer simple prescribed medications, assist with clients personal care activities, and general health care needs. I have always loved to care for others . My first caregiver experience was caring for my family members. Overtime I started caring for others outside of my family. I enjoy helping others and bringing joy to others. What I enjoy most is the smile of clients face when I am with them preparing their meal, taking them shopping, watching movies, or just sitting back listening to them tell stories about their experiences. I was a nurse for 28 years and then became ill with several other immune diseases and how to stop that. Turn that time I have always just for caring for people indeed I took care of my mom when she passed I took care of my cousin when he passed with ALS and I took care of my cousin when she had cancer and I thought I can do this I know I can do this so here I am. And as a side note I am the very proud grandparent to two wonderful little girls that live in Dallas Texas, so I do tend to talk about them a lot! Lol
