I am from the Philippines but I've been here in the U.S. for almost 20 years. In the country were I grew up, we have no nursing homes nor assisted living facilities, therefore we have to take in our elderly and take care of them and that's how care giving comes so naturally to me. Being able to help someone and improve their quality of life, makes me happy. I am 44 years old, very passionate on what I do and would always go extra miles to meet the needs of the individuals.

My name is Moriah Gonzales and my brother was in an accident 6 years ago that left him paralyzed. My mother and father went to be with him and I stayed home and took over the mother role at 16. When he returned from rehab I took care of him while my parents worked. I love helping others and my personality is very upbeat and fun! It helps to sometimes put yourself in the otYou feel that when you are older, you'd want someone like yourself there to help you if you need help. Caregiving attracts me because I put myself in the person's shoes and see what it might be like to ask people for help, and make a difference in someone's life. Taking care of sick people that needs my help gives me joy to my heart, and most of The time it makes me feel special knowing I put a smile on there face One achievement that I am proud of is that I've always been so friendly, very positive, very energetic and always in a great mood, and I always put a smile one there face when they feel comfortable around my positive attitude..

Helping people has been a passion of mine for many years. My mother was diagnosed with a neurological disorder when I was three. For many years, I was her primary caregiver and watched her struggle with chronic pain. I started realizing that the basic stretches and exercises I was doing in ballet class could help her regain some of her strength and alleviate some of the pain she was experiencing. After doing this for many years, I also realized that what I was doing may be able to help the over 100 million Americans living with chronic pain. So, a few years ago I put all of the basic stretches, exercises, and ballet moves into a class format and began teaching. I started locally at nursing homes, schools, and children's hospitals. Then I quickly began expanding the program, teaching my Dancing Through the Pain classes all over the United States and becoming an ambassador and spokesperson for the U.S. Pain Foundation. I would love to be able to help you or your family member just like I helped my own family through times of trouble!

I feel like caregiving was something I was born to do. I enjoy getting to know new people and help them with the tasks they need help with. I find satisfaction in caregiving because it feels great knowing I'm helping someone take care of there loved one. I was raised by a family member that was a CNA and she taught me to be loving and caring to others. I have worked with Individuals that display outburst behavior. I have been working with individuals that are mentally disabled for 3 years and that has taught me to be patient and kind. Being able to help families that need help really makes me feel like I'm doing a job that is really important and makes me want to always do the best job I can do for others and there loved ones.
