Hello my name is Esmeralda and I chose to be a caregiver at a young age I guess u can say . My grandmother raised me and she was the first person I took care of and I fell in love with it . I have patience and I love to sit with them and chat . They need someone to care for them as well as hear them out . Hear their stories hear them out , see their face light up knowing they are cared for . My only down fall is I get attached and it hurts my heart when I see them go . I'm a very hard worker dedicated to providing the best care and companionship possible. My background is in social work. I've worked in hospice, home health and previously as a nursing assistant. I started care giving with my grandmother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's/dementia. I found myself enjoying the time I spent with her and even after she passed I looked for a job in caring for the elderly. They enjoy ones company.

As a great caregiver I try to remain very positive all the time. I am an honest and trust worthy person Being patient, responsible, dependable and have great communication skills with my patients is at the most important to me. As a caregiver I am very empathetic towards my patients and compassionate, it is what establishes a great relationship with each patient. Understanding the patients needs and desires to be able to take care of them efficiently is at the most important to their family and myself. I became a caregiver to be able to help those who cant help themselves, to try and help them build the confidence some may have lost during some difficult moments they must have gone through if it may have been through some therapy, or a on going treatment they are still facing. When I see a patient has recovered more that 50 percent it gives me great joy to know I have made a difference in someones life. To have a patient to being speechless to even a good morning is a huge difference to me.
