I took care of my father as a caregivers he's last 5 years of his life. Enjoyed helping get dress feed him and keeping him as comfortable as possible. What attracted me was the chance to make my father last years of his life to be as happy and comfortable as possible. I was able to take him to watch his favorite team the Yankees several times and also take him to see his great grand kids in High School sports. I was proud that even though he was handicap from a stroke I kept him safe from falling and breaking any bones and that his last years of his life he was happy and never let him get depress by always taking him out to events.

I am a loyal, patient, and honest person who enjoys helping others. I chose to be a caregiver because I understand the conditions and felt the need to help; I put other peoples needs before my own. My grandmother, who has had multiple strokes, is now paralyzed on her right side of her body and is unable to speak and do any of her daily activities. My aunt who is an RN had taught me the ropes on to being my grandmother's temporary caregiver. Not only did I enjoy the time spent with my grandmother, but I also enjoyed that I was able to give back and make an impact on her life. I only hope to do the same for others.

As a great caregiver I try to remain very positive all the time. I am an honest and trust worthy person Being patient, responsible, dependable and have great communication skills with my patients is at the most important to me. As a caregiver I am very empathetic towards my patients and compassionate, it is what establishes a great relationship with each patient. Understanding the patients needs and desires to be able to take care of them efficiently is at the most important to their family and myself. It is what makes work environment healthier and understanding for patient and healthcare worker. I became a caregiver to be able to help those who cant help themselves, to try and help them build the confidence some may have lost during some difficult moments they must have gone through if it may have been through some therapy, or a on going treatment they are still facing. Offer those encouraging words we all need to hear from time to time, show them some one cares if they have no one else to turn too. Being a caregiver gives me great feeling knowing that I have made a difference in someones life. When I see a patient has recovered more that 50 percent it gives me great joy to know I have made a difference in someones life. To have a patient to being speechless to even a good morning is a huge difference to me. Its what makes me want to go to work every day and know I will continue to make a difference in someones life.

What makes me a great caregiver is my attention to details and attentive and responds to situations in a timely manner with patient, especially the elderly, needs constant care and attention.

I enjoy helping others to be the healthiest and happiest version of themselves. Apart from providing services to my clients, I think of putting myself in their shoes to further understand and help their needs. I became a caregiver because I like to help people. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is I get to meet new people. Something that I am proud of is that I love to keep a positive attitude no matter what is going on in my own personal life. I strive to give 101% of what is expected of me when I work, and work beyond my limits.

I have managed finances, my home, and volunteered in the military community as a former Navy wife and Support Group President/Ombudsman for the USS Camden. I am successfully raising 5 daughters and a son all while earning an Associates and I'm in the process of completing a Bachelors. I am strong, independent, reliable, dependable, trustworthy, without bias, career focused, goal oriented and determined to succeed. I try and set the example for my children and learn from my mistakes to constantly improve myself not only in my personal life but my work environment as well. I am easy to train, eager to learn, always on time. I have learned to do what I thought was impossible and will continue to develop skills to greatly benefit any future career.
