What makes me a great caregiver. Well it's easy to answer my love, compassion, respect for elderly I've a caregiver since 2010 because taking care of a good friend whom had several health issues later on she convinced me to get my certification in order to work with others in need of help she thought I could be great in the field needless to say love the health care field I'm taking classes to enroll into the nursing program pretty soon. Have some other certifications like certificate to administrate medications, O2 equipment, mental illness,trained to use medical equipment as well. I have had many different cases in the past. I feel pretty comfortable providing total care.

I have and continue to be passionate about caring for people and feel very blessed to have this as my career. I believe that one should always treat others the way they want to treated, with respect, patience, dignity, and kindness. I enjoy caring for people and loving what you do is most important to me. My daughter Saturday has shown me everyday what a gift it is to have such love and compassion for others and also having taken care of my elderly parents has been a gift so it is my family that attracts me to the career in Caregiving. A personal achievement I am most proud of is my volunteer work at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital where I was assigned to the Oncology Unit and working just to make the children on that unit love, play, or do artwork taught me how precious life is and how even the smallest kindness matters more than we know. Four years ago I retired from nursing. Recently, I moved to Phoenix Arizona to be near family. I have one married daughter in Phoenix where I presently reside, and another married daughter in Peoria. My daughter and son-in-law in Peoria have one daughter and are currently expecting their second child. Prior to moving here, my most recent pertinent work experience was as a homecare non-medical provider to an senior woman in her Kansas home. Though hired as "non-medical care provider" much of my assistance with this woman did revolve around her medical needs as she was an end-stage cancer patient, as well as diabetic. I helped manage her medication schedule, transportation and ensuring she went to medical/doctor appointments. I also monitored her daily health needs such as blood pressure, blood sugars, etc. I would like to care for you or a loved one in your home, and assist you with some of your care needs. I am willing to assist with light housekeeping, meal preparations, exercise/physical therapy programs, transportation and occasional errands or grocery shopping. I also have lots of experience working with elderly that dont have dementia or any other memory impairments. I became a caregiver because I took care of my old mother that needed help and couldn't care for herself people came in my house and did not give my mother the cares that she needed and I felt so sorry for her so I had to leave one of my job to help her. 2. Being a caregiver I like helping older people meet their needs helping them reach their goals and seeing smiles on their faces.My personal achievement that I am proud of when I go to work and I make my resident smile and they know that they have someone every day to look up to that make them to feel they are love and care for. I enjoy working one on one with people and getting to know them as a person, rather than a client. I believe that people should be able to live how they would like to live, regardless of the state of their health--if you're not enjoying life, then what is the point?
