I became a caregiver because of my parents in need of care...During a 37+year period I have worked as a caregiver/home-care aide ,personal assistant also assisted caring for my parents until they departed. I was taught to honor thy mother/ father and respect others at a young age... I have completed and passed a C.N.A. course 19+years ago and have worked in nursing homes,skilled facilities and rehab centers as a rehab assistant for quite sometime now...What I do in making a difference in helping others has always been a joyous experience. I became a Nursing Assistant when my grandfather was diagnosed with Cancer it was hard on my grandmother, but once I stepped in with bathing, helping with light housekeeping around the house or just letting my grandmother get out for an hour or two her load was lightened it was a blessing. I felt giving back to my grandfather for all the love and support he has given me all the years was truly from the heart, he later passed away within three months then my grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer and I stepped in for her with just myself and my little children and again it was a blessing but challenging at same time but God gave me strength through my trail and made me strong.If i can give that to everyone I come in contact with am complete because it's from the heart helping someone with a bath, dressing them for the day, of just having a conversation means a lot to so many.. I love what I do and can give another individual

Hello, I have been a caregiver for over 6 years. Throughout my years of caring for others I've learned that the most important part of this job is to have patience, and to enjoy spending time with individuals who rely on use to be there for them, and this is the reason why I love my job because I enjoy helping others who aren't able to help themselves.

I have always wanted to major in the medical field, I started working towards my degree in nursing, and I got a job as a CNA. Working with the elderly has been great, it has given me more Patience than I already had. being able to care for someone that can be my grandmother or any family member brings great satisfaction. of course my 87 year old grandmother with early obset Alzheiner's, still lives at home. it is my heart pleasure to see the elderly be safe and happy in their own home with proper care.

I consider myself to be a very loving person. I became a caregiver when my father started experiencing memory loss which unfortunately lead to Dementia. I'm very understanding of what family's experience when someone you love get this illness. I hope to care for the elderly for a long time and also bring some relief to the family that their love ones are in good hands.
