I have 13 years experience as a Cna and 20 years experience in the healthcare field. The reason I decided to become a caregiver is because of my grandmother, she turned I'll around 2003 and I stepped in to help take care of her. I think being a caregiver is my calling and something that I love and enjoy doing.

I became a Nursing Assistant when my grandfather was diagnosed with Cancer it was hard on my grandmother, but once I stepped in with bathing, helping with light housekeeping around the house or just letting my grandmother get out for an hour or two her load was lightened it was a blessing. I felt giving back to my grandfather for all the love and support he has given me all the years was truly from the heart, he later passed away within three months then my grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer and I stepped in for her with just myself and my little children and again it was a blessing but challenging at same time but God gave me strength through my trail and made me strong.If i can give that to everyone I come in contact with am complete because it's from the heart helping someone with a bath, dressing them for the day, of just having a conversation means a lot to so many.. I love what I do and can give another individual

I love to be able to help others from young to older, did it half of my life. I live in hammond,indiana with my husband and dog. I Enjoy adventures and family time. Being hands on with a person everyday or week you become close and understand them. I have the patience, awareness of my surroundings, fast actions and enjoy helping others. If I don't know what to do I'll look it up or ask lots of questions. I been taking care of my dad for the last 8 years, every Tuesday I take him to his doctor appointments and I also do housekeeping every Friday mornings for the last 2 years. I have always wanted to major in the medical field, I started working towards my degree in nursing, and I got a job as a CNA. Working with the elderly has been great, it has given me more Patience than I already had. being able to care for someone that can be my grandmother or any family member brings great satisfaction. of course my 87 year old grandmother with early obset Alzheiner's, still lives at home. it is my heart pleasure to see the elderly be safe and happy in their own home with proper care.
